Saw an M3 parked with some sort of aftermarket grill. It looked like shit with the bumper foam completely visible. Is this the case with the Vorsteiner as well?

Two of us had fitment issues that required some trimming of the foam on the bumper, I returned mine.

I believe EAS is going to fit it on a customers car sometime this week.

I would, but I ended up ceramic coating mine. The gloss black abs shows the tiniest scratches easily.

Looks like we're installing the carbon fiber grilles today, not ABS.

From my experience...

I'd go w/ ceramic, or PPF + ceramic. Ceramic only works well on the stock abs grill. For PPF, my shop wanted to have it installed first and it was nearly the $500 or something to PPF the grill (they said its all custom work) which is too much $ for me.

Either way, looking forward to seeing it!

What made the customer change his mind on the abs?

I’m getting cold feet lol

It was a mistake on my part, it was on the schedule as Vorsteiner grilles and didn't specify whether ABS or carbon.

Customer was a no-show today, so we'll have to reschedule.

I'm looking at the same grille... do you know if your discount code is an active one or a one time use?

Not sure if it works anymore. I would add it to the cart and try it. The code is in my picture.

I don't know why the ABS version has the sensor clearance issue but the CF version doesn't. I wish that could have been avoided. I'm on the fence again because I don't want to permanently modify the car as small as the foam cut is.

Yeah, kinda odd that ABS requires it. Only thing I can figure is the depth is different. But honestly the amount of foam they cut off is negligible. I dont think you need to worry about it at all. Even if you returned it to stock later.

Only if you have the sensor correct? I like the grill with mesh but don't want to cut anything.

Just finished my install. The video doesn't show the extent that the foam support needs to be trimmed. The center of the support needs to be trimmed down 1 inch to avoid pressure on the grill.

The grill itself snaps right into place and is well made. It does sit noticeably deeper then the carbon version.

Pictures to follow.

The pictures on AES’s Instagram don’t show it sitting so deep. I’m not sure if I like it or not…

I think it looks good for sure. On a black car, it would just look OEM I think. I may think differently if you had a shot where it was in direct sunlight though.

I think that looks good man, shame you had to trim more of the bumper though. All grills that clip into the OEM clips on the bumper sit deeper. I prefer that honestly as I have seen a bunch where the fitment is off and crooked.
