Exterior mirrors
General information
The mirror on the front passenger side is more (convex) n/a "asph"
curved than the driver's side mirror.

Automatic dimming feature
The exterior mirror on the driver's side is auto‐
matically dimmed. Photocells in the interior mir‐
ror are used to control this

The added circuitry appears to handle the auto dimming function, driver side mirror only.
Per the BMW Manual the right side is not auto dimming.
