My brother just received his G83 M4. This is his first BMW and I'm super excited for him. Haven't driven it much due to my hectic schedule but I'm already planning my go-to mods for his car. Will probably start another build thread sometime in the future but for now, the first thing I'm doing is swapping out the US spec taillights with the Euro Spec Tailights. I've done this along with the Euro Rear View Mirrors (Aspheric) on every ///M I've owned.
I don't think anyone has installed the Euro Sped taillights in USA yet as this product has not even hit the market yet. So I'll be sure to document my process when I receive my set in a week or so. I have some plugs with BMW Europe execs so I got my hands on a few sets and they should be arriving shortly. Will keep this thread updated. Last edited by Abdul; 11-06-2022 at 10:33 PM.. |

I think some people have done this already with the G80. Pretty sure it will require some coding. If you would not mind sharing your source from whom you've purchases from I would appreciate it. You can DM me if you'd like. |

When I look up Euro spec, I just see results for GTS tail lights. What's the primary difference between US and Euro?

Abdul, my biggest pet peeve with my G82 is that we didn't get the Euro Tails. So I'm following your thread closely to see if they're basically plug-n-play, or if revised wiring is involved. So thanks in advance for sharing.
And, where in the hec did you order the Euro Spec Tails???? |

We have, here's some installed images along with a comparison of US vs EU. Also additional wiring, EU headlamp switch and coding was needed for reverse fogs

Tom, is it just me, or are both of those installed images using the USDM cluster (per your third image)? Maybe I don't know what I'm looking at.
I'm definitely interested in these, love a nice amber turn signal like the car gods intended. |

Sorry - I meant the light cluster itself on the back of the car. It just looks like it's the same thing in both of those rear end shots, and both have the double row of "clear" LEDs like the USDM light in the 3rd picture.

I apologize, the first two images were "before" (US) images. Images have been updated.

I don't have a G80. I've seen G80 Euro Spec lights installed here. But they aren't easy to find as well.
I'm looking to get them for the G82/83. I haven't seen anyone do it for this car yet. If someone has, please chime in and give us your feedback and tips. |

The drawback to this is every time the vehicle's software is update, it will revert back to the original US light settings, causing the Euro taillights to not function properly, until it is recoded again. https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=26016141 https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=26837165 |

Utilizing a red signal allows auto manufacturers to meet US surface area requirement without a redesign of the basic structure of the taillamp assembly, which would be a costly endeavor. One single larger red signal/ brake light(s) alternating operations offers a practical solution which fully meets considerations of design and production costs. https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=24680672 |

I was able to code the "Euro tails" (separate brake lights from turn signal) on my G80. I used bimmercode following these instructions https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=161. Works Great! Now I just need order the Euro tails.
