I know that's like asking for the best food option at the bottom of a dumpster on a hot day, but nonetheless.

I've driven Sheridan road many times. It's the only decent driving road I know about, without having to drive 3 hours to the Galena / driftless area, or 6 hours around the lake to the Michigan "Tunnel of Trees" area.

Wondering if anyone has discovered some good Sunday driving roads...

I do my own F1 style loop through the city on early weekend mornings before 8 AM that’s pretty fun. 290 to lower wacker to LSD heading north, l loop back to wacker south, to 290 to Ashland, south to hit a couple long over passes (tunnels!), then back to 90 north, take the down town exits option, the new interchange is fun, and then i decide from there what to do, often off to grab breakfast.

It’s tough being a car lover in the city. If you have more time then you can head out to Ottawa (1.25 hrs) and then drive the river road down to Preoria and then loop back. It’s pretty fun but more like a half day.

I don’t drive too much of Sheridan as it’s slow moving and has cops camped out. DM me if you ever want to run the loop. I am still tweaking the route a bit for fun and new spots I am finding in the city.

I’d be down for a loop run. I’m in LP. I’ve also drvien to Starved Rock, found a decent set of roads on a work trip to Peoria and then another set going to Joliet.

You inspired me! I was starting from the north side, so I began at 6 AM by driving south on LSD to Lower Wacker, taking 290 to 90 to 55 (fun interchanges), to LSD south for a bit. Turned around, headed north, drove on Michigan ave then got on the Ontario feeder ramp, 90 south, 290 east, Lower Wacker, LSD north. Took about an hour.

Did see one Statie camped somewhere in the 55/90 interchange with his Ka radar blasting.

AWESOME man! I am working on some easy extensions to add some tunnels and other features. It’s a good time, and an amazing way to get some fun in in the middle of downtown. I have a G83 so with the top down and the nice weather, its amazing.
