CSL Strut Brace to intake fitment confirmation:

Eventuri: No
Eventuri V2: Yes
BMS (Burger Motorsports): Yes (See post #9)
Gruppe-M: No
Mishimoto Intake: Yes (See post #43)
Dinan: No (See Dinans thread on official release post #91)

Update: The proper hardware comes with the new CSL bar. Apparently my bar was reboxed and the hardware either wasn't included or it fell out of the box. When I received my package it was shipped in a makeshift envelope style box. Likely to save on shipping. It was simple in a flat box that was taped at both ends, rather poorly.

Hardware in the box:
51617885847 Strut brace
2x M8X30 10.9 ZNS3 – Hex Bolt with washer – Part number: 07 11 9 907 857
The rest of the screws can be reused from the standard strut braces.

I will attempt to keep this first post updated with Intakes that clear the CSL Strut Brace.

Ok, probably of the first on hand in the US. I was excited to get this, today, even though, the day after I special ordered it, with no refunds on special orders, I found out it doesn't fit over the Eventuri intake.

I DMd Imran and they are looking into a solution. Props to Eventuri, for the beauty of an intake, I just wish it would fit under the CSL strut brace. Here are some pictures of where it falls a little short.

While I have it on hand, if there's anything you want to know about it, or pics you want to see close-ups of, let me know. I can try to take pics of it, since Im not installing it.

The drivers side (nearside in the UK) filter, is a little too big to allow the brace to sit flat.

CSL brace bathroom scale weight: 8.5lbs or 3.86kg

Can you take some other angles showing how it doesn't fit please? I have a BMS intake and I wonder if the bigger brace will fit over it.

That brace looks good! I just ordered mine and now you have me wondering if it will fit over my BMS intakes. Guess we will see or I'm going back to stock intakes. Thanks for info and pics!

As soon as it didn't fit, it was sold to a friend 10 minutes later. I don't have it anymore. He has BMS intakes though; so, we will soon find out.

Confirmed to fit with the BMS intake. New owner says there is more room with the BMS intakes installed, than there are with the OEM intakes. Also confirmed that the hardware that comes with the G80/ G82/ G83 is all you need to install the CSL Strut Brace.

Ordered. Dammit. Hahaha. I just know someone is going to make a CF version for the same price and I'll end up buying that one too.

Thanks Limegrntaln for everything you do for the community. I've been following some of your threads since I got the allocation for my car. I did order the CSL strut brace from the group buy that Abdul just did.

For the rest of you guys that are considering purchasing the strut brace, here’s the link where I pre-ordered it from.

Do we think that installing this strut brace has an improvement on handling? Maybe not substantial but beneficial over the tri bar setup? I wanna say so because this is one piece

The stiffer brace will reduce flex at the top of the struts which will increase flex at the bottom (think of a trapezoid/rectangle). On the street it wont matter, but on track you might get undesired results without also stiffening the bottom with the lower CSL parts. The swaybar is different and there may also be a different or additional lower tie bar / reinforcement plate on the CSL that many videos mention without specific detail.

Interesting, thanks for the info. What is the actual result likely to be?

Understeer or oversteer? Premature tire wear due to contact point changes from new geometry?

I'm only using for street, but interested in the technical knowledge.

The easies thing to do is have someone with a CSL put their on a lift. There was a guy on Facebook the other day that had his on the lift swapping out the exhausts. But I didn't see the rest of underneath the car. Just around the exhaust area.

Good write up. One of the reasons I now think I'll back off from purchasing.
