Here’s BSM next to Dravit on a double delivery day in two lighting conditions. I’ve had BSM and Tanzanite and prefer the BMW blues now… but BSM is a phenomenal look. I have it on our X7 and love it.

New to the forum, got a g80 m3 manual sedan recently. I would like to "black out" as much of the car as possible. ordered the matte black billet tips as well as some new badges that are matte from riga kit. on the rear, sides and anywhere else has anyone found an "all black" source for the badges or tried painting them matte? (the little badge on the side before the door is the one i am mainly talking about)

I like the black badges but wish they were all black without the colors. i ordered oem replacements and going to see what it looks like if I paint them matte.... will post when done.

What arch guards / mud flaps are on your car... ? I know black cars show up ever single paint imperfection. So protecting them form the start is a must.

Hey! Yeah they are definitely a must. Im on my second set. I had some in the rear with my last set of wheels but the offsets on these new wheels are more aggressive so i cant run the flaps in the rear. But i got them from autotecknik. My first set got so beat up but my paint still looks great. They definitely do the job.

Guys - am I right that BSM is not quite a pure black? Does the metallic sparkle in it make it more like an extremely dark grey?

I've got glossy-ppf and regret not getting stealth. Now car and all this cool features like carboon roof blends in. Also skirts and 'splitter' looks like painted in color so it looks pretty chip. If you want to go gllossy BSM you need to go 100% carbon. In my case in the end im going dynopurple!

You're right that it's not a pure black, but no it doesn't look like an extremely dark grey (unless you consider extremely dark grey... well... black).

The "sapphire" really comes out when you have a good reflection from a strong light source (like the sun). It also comes out when you inspect it closely. But, to someone passing, it's black.

It's a pure black. The sparkle just gives it more visual interest than a non-metallic black. You wouldn't mistake it for dark grey or really anything other than black.

I'll be joining the BSM club tomorrow morning when I take delivery of a 2021 G82 with 300 miles. Good to be part of this community!

Question for all you BSMers:

Of course this is mostly personal preference, but I've struggling a bit to choose what PPF to get, glossy vs. matte. I understand it's a very common dilemma and seems that most with BSM suggest going with a Matte film.

I'm 90% going with the matte look (STEK Dynamatte).

But my real question is around keeping the carbon parts glossy or covering those with the same matte film.

As my usual preference is usually more understated, I think it might look really good to have them wrapped in matte as well. But I'm trying to minimize regrets and I'd appreciate your thoughts on this. Maybe the matte on the CF parts will be too muted?
