Just to write down my experience....

Yesterday got a adapter, bimmercode full version and tried my luck in my 23 id8 M

ASD
The usual steps described by bimmercode support didnt.t work for me.
Had to go into expert mode and change everything that had asd in its name to 'inactive'.
That did the trick.

start/stop
coded in the 'general' menu to not active but doesn't work.

video in motion
realized after I wasted 1 hour that ID 8 doesn't support any video playback from USB at all.

The same goes for transfering music from your usb to the hard drive of the car....not possible anymore with ID8.


And there is one question for the experts among this community....Is there a possibility that after turning the ASD off the HK doesn't sound that good anymore?

I read comments that it is supposed to subjectively improve the sound performance of the HK but I had a feeling that it got worse....

Maybe it is just in my head because I had high expectations

There is no HDD for music in the iDrive 8 MGU.

I thought there was a setting somewhere in bimmercode to "allow video playback through USB" or something to that effect?
I haven't had a chance to mess with iD8 yet but it might be there and work, or might not.
I have seen people using Android Auto and screen mirroring to play videos in iD8 though.

i have 2024 330e and just tried bimmercode with the veepeak dongle.
i did see "video via usb" but no "video in motion"
i coded the video via usb and all that happened was my screen went black and stayed black.
i then loaded the backup, also couldnt view "advanced crash safety module" with veepeak dongle so ive ordered a different dongle

Video playback works great on mine, didn’t see any obvious options for VIM though. Did it mostly for the novelty while I was tweaking a few other things

how you did that?

mine didnt work when I did it with Bimmercode

I enabled this, and put some videos on a USB stick connected to the A port between the cupholders.

There’s several ways, none of which will be accomplished by BimmerCode.
