1/1 front mount intakes installed

Got my custom front mount intakes installed today and wow ! The sound that these things make are crazy. I got mine powder coated in orange to match my interior and brakes.. here are some pics and vids, they're basically all I have for now but will add more soon.

Hit up @momentum_metal_fabrication on Instagram for your set.

Damn those look sweet. Couple questions
1. Where are the maf sensors now relative to the filters?
2. Did u notice any power gains on the butt dyno
3. How hard are those to install
4. Are you worried about hydrolocking the engine in heavy rain? Maybe consider some prefilters to cover the cone filters?

Very cool!

But how does one know if the sensors are in the right place? Isn't there some science behind where the airflow sensors go? I'm not trying to be a downer. I am genuinely interested. I think the look and sound geat!

I reached out to them today and they don't have any documented data either direction. I too am worried about the MAF relation to the filter. They stated no CEL and "positive" performance. I live in SoCal similar to there these are made. It doesn't rain here so not SUPER worried about the hydro aspect BUT it is something that should be considered.

New to BMWs, but my experience with my '13 Vette showed some MAFs are extremely sensitive to turbulent air. Corvette went to Hitachi MAFs on the later C6s, and they did not like any turbulence in the air flow. Would run super lean. So, with a Haltech CAI installed, even opening the shroud a bit to get outside air caused the car to run lean. Some lean is good, but too much is very bad. I assume Bosch makes the MAF for BMW, so don't know if it applies. If it does, placement could be critical.
