Not a fan of the P Zero's in the rain

So I got stuck in a down pour and the roads had puddling etc. I was only going like 40 to 45 mph and the tires were hydroplaning and the car was moving around. I've never had tires unless they were on there last leg this bad in the rain. They just don't inspire confidence to me in the wet. Anyone else feel the same?

Can you describe this hydroplaning in more detail? Car moving around through puddles is normal.

When people talk about PS4S tires being good in the wet, they're not saying it's more resistant to hydroplaning or moving around going through puddles. The low tread depth on performance tires means you'll have to go pretty slow through standing water.

Yeah I know the moving around is normal and all but I've had the PS4's on other cars and to me they are just superior to the the P Zero's in the wet. Just my opinion. I have just been disappointed in how these tires perform in the wet and I know others have said the same in some regards.

Yeah I'll definitely get those when these get bad. I would have to assume the demand is high and if they are providing them to manufactures it's gonna be tough to get them? Good luck on receiving them soon!

Let us know how you like them when you finally get them as others I've heard from that changed from the P Zero's said they could immediately tell a better quality ride.

I have the P Zeros and drove through several downpours on the way back from PDC and the tires seemed fine to me. My prior car was an M2C with Michelins. The tires on the M3/4 are seriously wide, so you'll always have to be careful about hydroplaning. In the Tire Rack review posted in another thread, the P Zeros were actually rated noticeably higher than the Michelins in the wet

I don't believe that, based my research best tires out there are the Good year Eagle Sport F1(i forget the model i think F1) and the Michelin Sport 4S. I have P zeros no complains but except in the wet.

You can believe it or not, but based on Tire Rack's tests, it outperformed the Michelin's overall in the wet.

I would have preferred to get the Michelins, but have no concerns about the Pirellis in the wet

Yeah, I think Pirelli has closed the gap some and it's great to see the improvement. It will take a while for consumer sentiment to catch up. Of course, I'll still be getting the Michelins when I wear these out. I don't drive aggressively in the rain, so would prefer the dry traction advantage and other benefits of the Michelins

I dont think they've updated the P Zeros in over 4 years though. Isnt it there saying if it aint broke dont replace it?

Drove back home with the p-zero's through some hard Florida rain and they seemed to work fine. No issues. I would have preferred the ps4's but luck of the draw. I think they'll be fine overall.

I don't even want to take delivery of my car if it comes with P-Zeros. Michelin all the way.

Keep an eye on the inside wear on the Pirelli's, you may be surprised when you start seeing cords showing yet there's still some life left in the tread.

Never driven on ps4s so I really have no comparison. So far the pirellis are fine , time will tell how they wear and perform.

All my previous M’s have been delivered with Michelin pilot sport.
