Car Wash pictures

Here's a variation on a theme. Everyone washes their cars differently. Let's see some pictures of it. Most commonly I'm going to the touchless place and then drying and cleaning it up myself afterwards.

Foam Cannon fun with the car hanging out in my utterly stupid steep driveway (also known as the reason I can't ever lower a car).

How's your home water? Mine is super hard to the point where I stopped trying to wash my car a home years ago because the water spots were insane if I wasn't quick to dry it.

You need a resin-based filtration system. We live on well water, so it’s only softened. I recently picked up a CR Spotless system and it’s quite mind blowing. I washed both our cars today, and after rinsing, just walked away. Not a single water spot!

I also have really hard water and was going to buy the cr spotless system too. The problem is the harder the water the faster you go through the resin and the resin refills for cr spotless are not that cheap.

I ended up just googling deionized water and the city I live in. Many companies "rent" these tanks and you hook up your garden hose and the pressure washer in the other end.

This tank holds .6cu ft of resin and costs $89 to refill.
The tank is essentially free. They hold a $130 deposit for the tank

It seriously makes washing the car enjoyable. Most definitely recommend

That's all probably more effort and money than I'm up for. I'll just keep going to the DIY place.

They're great for a pre-soak before you get your two buckets for the full wash. Plus it's weirdly fun to do.

It’s a game changer.. and not just for the enjoyment, but primarily for saving the finish from swirls. I like to go one step further and do two coats of foam… first one after initial spray down, foam dwell while I clean wheels, rinse foam and refoam for lubrication to start wash.

I’m also a bit OCD with the process as my car is a Frozen finish.

If I tried to do this here in AZ during most months the foam will have dried on the vehicle by the time I finished cleaning the 2nd or 3rd wheel.

I do like using the foam cannon but from about early May through mid October it means I can't really let the foam dwell on the car for too long. If I won the lottery one of my requirements for a new home would be to have an air conditioned garage that would allow all detailing to be done inside of it.

You're a brave man washing a black car in direct sunlight. Do you have a water dionizer or water softener to prevent spots... ?

There was more shade earlier but it really was just drying it as quickly as possible. Conditions were not ideal but I was desperate for a clean car.
