G80 Comp Baseline Dyno (93 Octane/DynoJet)

Hello everyone,

I just got my G80 Comp dyno'd and it put down great power. Per usual the claimed 503/479 numbers are not accurate. Check out my video and graph below.

Can't wait to get this monster tuned.

They are good numbers but I don't think it's accurate to use STD correction on turbocharged engine like this one and it is applying a big 1.06 correction factor here, so the actual uncorrected max power was more like 465 which is a little closer to how it's rated.

The 503 hp rating was a joke. Looked at 10 dyno pulls from US, UK and Germany--and thanks for yours. The minimum crank hp using the very conservative 12% vice older 15%, driveline loss shows 550+ to the crank. Your average pull shows 555 to the crank and about the same torque. The DynoJet is one of the most accurate, imo. Gave the best readings for Corvettes and very consistent shop to shop doing the pulls.

I know different shops and dynos use different correction factors. This is the one my shop uses and it is only to have a baseline. Once I start adding mods I will at least have something to go off of to measure the gains. That is the real purpose of the dyno because of all of the variables IMO.

BMW has a history of underrated their engines so we where not surprised.
