Anyone have trouble with the My BMW app? (Solution added)

When I try and log into the My BMW app on my Samsung Galaxy S21+ I get a "bad token" error and then it won't log in. This seems to be a known issue based on all the 1 star reviews on the Google Play Store. I have another phone that I use at work that it works fine on. Has anyone else had problems with the Android app and do you have a solution for it? I've tried deleting and reinstalling the app to no avail.

The option for taking the 3d look around view/pic of the car is pretty fancy though! Too bad you can't do it as a live feed though. I think it took almost 2min to take and put the pics together for me to view.

EDIT: after some searching I found a solution for anyone else having the problem. It may be your Chrome browser that it doesn't play nice with. Check out this post.

I spent a long time at the dealership on the phone with my salesperson and BMW technical support trying to figure out why I was having the same issue the day I picked up my M3. Towards the end of the call they randomly asked if I had an android phone, "Oh yeah the app doesn't work at all with android phones, I think they're trying to fix that." Lovely lol. That workaround does work though for anyone else looking for a solution, I used Firefox but any other browser should work fine.

The delivery guy at the Performance Center didn't know about it either. Nor did the Genius at my dealer.

Having that problem with my android phone as well. It's a Pixel 5 running stock Android/no jail break, so if they can't get it to work on my phone that's pretty sad. What's even more frustrating is that they are decommissioning the old app without a time frame for getting the new app to work on Android. I hope their testing of the software on the car is better than their testing of their apps.

What problem are you having with it? Did you try changing browsers?

I have no idea why BMW, who I'm assuming knows of this incompatibility, didn't put it in the app description until they can get a fix.

The workaround definitely fixes the issue, once you login to the app via a different browser, it opens up and works correctly from then on out. All it needs is that first initial login.

I get an invalid token error in the Android MyBMW app, as many others have. When I log into the mybmw site on my chrome browser on my phone or computer, it logs in fine (as it does on the old BMW app on my phone). But that doesn't have the functionality of the app. Not sure I saw the workaround in this thread

Yea, the one in the first post linked to on the X7 form changing the browser. Seems to work for most people. Not sure why it didn't work for you.

Finally fixed it. I guess Firefox must use the same internet data as Chrome. I cleared the storage/cache and after that I was able to log in.

Tried the look around picture a few times last night as work. It's a pretty cool feature. Too bad it takes a minute and a hand to give you the static view. It would be great if you could do real time video from the car to see what was happening live around it.
