I use integrated laser jammers and radar detectors. ALP/DSP. Nothing in the window mount. And on this particular car, the G 80 everything is hidden. It’s total stealth. I have the best counter measures money can buy. I’m going to do a video on it soon for a different forum but I’ll post it here if you guys are interested. Some of you guys own some decent window mount detectors. What’s funny is most people use crap including luxury car owners. I think it’s mostly because they don’t know what’s good and what’s not.

For window mounts I would recommend the following:

Valentine 1 Gen 2
Uniden R7
Escort Redline 360c
Radenso Theia- When it finally comes out

Have you tested your ALP setup?

I did get the RadarMount from Amazon since the Blendmount is sold out. It sits a little more forward than the Blendmount it seems but not a bad deal for $42, especially since it includes the wiretap. I'm really happy with the results so far!
I'd like to get my V1 as close to the bottom of the mirror as possible. Looks like you could angle that middle part of the arm to raise it a bit?

You are correct. I actually was playing with it today and got it much closer to the bottom of the mirror.

I have a three head ALP unit that I pulled out of my F80 and is going in my G80.

I'm definitely interested in seeing your setup. I'm not sure where the best place is for head placement.

I see you're in Tampa? I'm also located in Tampa (relocated from ATL)! Would love to get together to test out setup after the car gets in. Mind sharing which shop you used for the install?

Do you guys find the jammers work well?

When reading up on them some articles say the newer radars used by police are constantly changing and a lot of the jammers won't work with them.

Trying to figure out what is worth buying if anything.

I have to say even the basic system from BMW in the G80 has warned me of 'police ahead' a couple of times and got me out of trouble!

Do you need to remove the radar when parked? I assume it's something that people would break in to the car to steal?

I have the R3 for my truck and my car both on Blendmount mounts. Works great. Fully customizable for signal and frequency. I have mine dialed for my local etc. Long range is some of the best and the price is fantastic. Ive had V1 in the past and while the arrows are a neat feature the range on the Uniden's trump the arrows. Although I see the new R7 does have them.

Moral of the story, my R3 is perfect and has paid for itself 10X

Does anyone have any ideas for mounting a detector somewhere a little more out of the way than right under the mirror? Lower left window is where i've always had it, understanding that there might be a little sensitivity trade off for the location. My challenge with this car though is finding a place to power it from. I suppose I could do a mirror tap with a long cable that runs across the top of the window and then down the side to the detector?

Hasn't got to my house yet haha, but personally I wouldn't remove it. I'm not parking on club streets and in sketchy areas though. Garage -> Restaurant -> Garage mostly.

Radar jammer or laser jammer?

And how are K40 setups these days? All the exotic guys around here run them with the laser dazzlers but I'm still picking up radar sooner with my dinky littler Radenso. I'd love an integrated system some day.

I've had it sitting in my window for as long as I can remember. Around 20 years, and never had a problem

I have a Redline 360 Max, normally I just place it on the windshield and have a hardwire coming from the dash/windshield. I would like for it to be up on the mirror but does it fit flush with the mirror? It seems like it would just be blocking line of sight.

Pictures would be ideal and helpful.

Maybe not of exactly the G8x, but google "Blendmount BMW" and there are a ton of pics to give you an idea.

Or even without that mount I like how far back and out of the way this one is with the stock mount.

There is only one company that make jammers that work on every Lidar gun on the market 100% of the time if set up properly and that is anti-laser priority. That’s a fact. Most other jammer companies are gimmicky. Some work a little bit most just don’t work on difficult Lidar guns. That’s a fact. Anti-laser priority also gives very good support. it is expensive though. It’s also a very difficult install because it’s time consuming. I will do my best to do a quick video on my system on my G80 this weekend weather permitting.
