I attached a photo with previous post. It's powered from the mirror's wiring harness.

I have one of the Escort models. I've always put it in the left lower window. I know it's not as idea as up by the mirror for sensitivity and detection, but I've always gotten enough with it and like that it's down out of the way. I always plugged it into the 12V outlet in the passenger footwell, which unfortunately no longer exists on this car. I could plug it into the one between the cup holders, but that just seems rather unsightly. I'm open for any other good ideas. Several cars ago I tapped into one of the fuses in the fusebox.

No I don't have it, I have a 6MT. It's probably best to match up your mirror with the photos they have.

Uniden R7 on a Blendmount BR7-2017 and mirror tap in both E93 and G80 M3. Never had a ticket or even close with either. R7 picks up long distance on highway up to 4+ miles and has auto lockouts for false hits around the town. Most detectors back ordered now due to chip shortage. Get on a waiting list whatever you choose. Also I use Vortex radar - you tuber settings for advanced set up, there are a lot of features.

Of course, you're right about that, but I don't have my car yet. Was thinking about ordering it and installing when I pick up my car at the Performance Center

I have the BMW-007 but don't have the Driving Assistance Pro. I am reusing the Blendmount from my M2C. Here is the picture of the mirror tap wires going into the mirror housing

I mounted my Uniden r7 using this thread and the one from the G20 forum and it was so easy. I was able to plug in the mirror tap without removing the wire harness and didn't break any clips using this trim removal tool I bought off of Amazon. I did get the RadarMount from Amazon since the Blendmount is sold out. It sits a little more forward than the Blendmount it seems but not a bad deal for $42, especially since it includes the wiretap. I'm really happy with the results so far!

Uniden R3 here on Blendmount. Easy to setup and looks good although I wish detector was a bit higher/closer to mirror. I've adjusted all the way up and still about 3" of space. Not critical tho.

The taps can be a bitch to insert, I was only able to get less than half of the blade into the mirror wire house before they stopped and bent. So now I have exposed metal but there does not seem to be any metal around it to cause problems.
