i don't know what a 'European Delivery' looks like, but i described the process of my pickup here, already if that helps?

Only Germans and Austrians are allowed to take delivery at the Welt. No other country in EU or Europe. There is no PCD-like facility either.

I tried hard to get a Welt delivery but no dice.

I doubt most Europeans would know the touring/sightseeing/driving possibilities when doing a PCD. I've done it twice with a '15 F82 and '19 X3M40i. Both times I headed straight to the Smokey Mountains. IMO they have truly world class back road twisties that are safe, well maintained and relatively untraveled. There are so many amazing roads to find in and around the Tail of the Dragon, and of course the TOTD itself really is awesome. And the Blue Ridge Parkway - while not the best for fast driving, it has gorgeous scenery. I'll be doing it again to pick up an AWD G8X (still debating 2 or 4 doors).

I would agree but I truly could not buy this iteration of M3 (and I have had the prior 2 so I am clearly a fan in general) due to the grille. I love the color combo on this M3 but the front end is a tough sell in photos, in person, everywhere.

I'm interested in BLUE in general and from the standard colors Tanzanite is too dark for my taste so I'm set on Portimao unless another blue like MBB is offered as standard on the M xDrive. Would love to see MBB & PB side by side to see if the extra $ for MBB is worth it!
I went with Portamao for the same reasons. Thought about Interlagos, but my order is already delayed so why complicate it this time around.
and I'm really looking forward to your pro photos when you receive your car

Or how bout a US East coast customer can do dual ED/PCD deliveries? I have done 2 duals, 3 ED's and 9 PCD's (10th PCD will be for the G83). The wait is killing me!

I really love my MBB, but wouldn't pay $5k for it. I had a Tanzanite F80, and that was extra, but worth it imho. Very special color, but slightly more work to keep it looking good versus something like MBB.

PB looks fine, especially for zero cost, but doesn't look as good as either MBB or TB imho. Have you considered Hera Mica Blue or Avus Blue? HM is far and away my favorite blue, like TB with more purple in it. Pops a bit more than TB, not as dark.
Agree with TB, as that's what I had on my former F83 and will order for my future G83. Looking forward to the "family photo" with my MBB X5M comp- contrasting the two blues. I'm fortunate to live by the coast and have a majority of sunny days as the BMW blues just pop.

I've seen Avus in person & Hera Mica in photos, but unless I see such colors (even MBB) on the G80 in person, or at least in good quality side-by-side photos next to PB I really cannot justify paying the extra $$. Going individual makes my M xDrive build over $90k before tax and IMO this is not the right range for the G8x.

No coffee might have been a deal breaker for me.

Now I am not one to complain but why did they give us portimao blue instead of marina bay? Portimao is one of my least favorite colors ever created and I thoroughly "normal" blue to go on an M.

Excellent color choice, enjoy it in good health!

I wonder if it's the same color as Porsche's Marine Blue Metallic. My old Cayenne has that color and I got more compliments on the color of my car than all my other cars combined.

Agreed. This is not a $90-100k car.

You ARE the one to complain when it comes to Portimao Blue buddy!!

I still have hope that BMW will offer this (edit: i.e. MBB) on the M xDrive!! They can't be charging me $4,100 just for the extra traction to win stop light races

MBB I feel will stay exclusive to the M5/M8/X5M/X6M as a standard ordering color. Maybe when the M5/M8 EOP, MBB is available. Similar to how SMB was a standard $550 color the last year of production for the F82/83.

I did TOTD after my PCD a few years ago. It was about an hour and a half out of the way, but was great experience and I'm glad I did it. I'm going to pass on it this time around though and just head for an overnight in Knoxville and then straight up 75.

I guess ED has the autobahn and we have TOTD and similar. Although Germany certainly has some beautiful mountain roads!
