825M vs. 826M Optical Illusion

I'm pretty much settled on TBII but I'm torn on the wheels. I'm between the bicolor versions of the 825 and 826s. I'm leaning 825 because it seems to me the brighter silver seems to create an optical illusion of being bigger than the darker wheel options.

Anyone else's eyes seeing this the same way mine are?

Not sure if the 825s look bigger but they sure make the car look better IMHO.

Yes, the brightness can make that optical illusion easily, but i personally like the bicolor 826 more because of the design (nice, traditional, concave-spiderweb type), and for the fact that they are lighter!

I also wish that they are little bit brighter, but at certain angles and under the good light they look amazing!

I think the roundel is so deep into the 826M that they look bigger to my eyes. 825M has a more classy look but I went with 826M with TBII.

I prefer the 825M wheels. Then again, I'm not a fan of darker / black wheels. I feel the design gets lost in the dark color. Also, it seems that when they're dirty, they have a brown hue.

With TBII the 825M wheels look really nice, from the photos I've seen.

I debated this ad nauseum with myself and I'm really hoping that when I finally see the car I decide I made the right choice.

My initial thoughts were:
825's will pop more against the blue
825's are a little less busy and maybe a bit more classy?
826's look kind of dark and busy

It's really difficult since most of us can't really see them in person before deciding.

My thoughts since then and as my car will be in Baltimore tomorrow:
825 - I hope they aren't too bright. I don't want it to look like I have chrome wheels which they give as an option on Corvettes because the old people (like my parents) pick them.
--I'm hoping the black inner parts tone them down some.
826 - seems a little darker, but in some pics light up some in the right light
826 - maybe look a little more sporty?

It's also hard to take into account how the 3D aspect of the wheels is in person as it really doesn't seem to come across in pictures.

I guess I'll know for sure in a month. I'm also hoping I like the color as much as in pictures.

This video has some good shots of them, although it's in French.

I like both, 825Ms for an elegant, classy look and 826Ms for an agressive, mean look. None of them does both very well IMO so it depends on what you are going for. If the 826Ms would have been offered with the same bright polish I suspect that they would have pulled both off.

I agree - neither is an everything wheel.

I want to like the 825 as they are the brighter option, but they are just too abstract/high in contrast for me. Idk why they seem cheaper looking to me.

I went with 826 bi-color on tanzanite. Wish the 826 came in a slightly lighter option, maybe similar to the f80 comp wheels.

I agree. I didn’t realize how big the wheels were (826) until I cleaned the car for the first time.

I went to see the 825Ms for the 1st time today. They were mounted on a Tanzanite blue M4. The same dealer have an IOMG and a BG M4 with 826Ms. The 825Ms do look striking with its bright silver polish and balances out the darker colors well.

However to me they look less like an M3 track type of wheel and seeing the M4 with them on from the side profile I wasn’t sure if it was an M or an M performance car. To me they look more like M performance wheels than M wheels while the 826Ms immediately identify the car as an M car to me.

Saw the 826M bi-color last week. The design is okay, but they are just too dark for my taste.

I debated this as well but went 825 as they look brighter. I like the 826 but with the bi-color they still seem a little too dark for IOMG.

I have the 825's to compliment the shadow line delete. I am pretty happy with the look. I also believe the 825's accent the concave structure of the wheel.

I'm looking forward to seeing these in person to see that concave center that they talked about in the wheel design video. Side question - do the Roundel's always stay upright when the car is stopped?

[unfortunately this thread will somewhat die now that it's been moved to the sub sub forum]

Much prefer the 826M, the 825 looks a smaller/poorer alternative to my eyes.

Glad you brought up the shadow line delete. Do you have any pics you could share by chance? Seems like not many folks have gone that route but it's definitely a consideration for TBII with the 825 bicolors...

On the 825 the center portion of the Y spoke towards center of wheel that is gloss black would drive me crazy trying to keep clean. For that alone I wouldn't get them. Both look great to me but I do prefer the 826 bicolor. I do think the 825 looks larger in rear but smaller in front compared to 826. Kind of weird.
