2022 M3 xDrive - No black 826M wheels

Hey guys - Just got the production number from the dealership and noticed that the build had the bi-color wheels on it instead of the black ones I had requested.

I know a lot of other members have mentioned the same issue, but has anyone gotten an answer from their dealerships or Genius as to if we can get the black wheels?

The black 826s don't appear in the system when configuring the car

Interesting. I spoke to my CA and he said he’d go back into the system and correct it. Not sure if he realizes that it maybe a BMW supply issue rather than a “glitch” in the system.

But I’m still hoping that I’m able to get those 826m black wheels

Per the thread title, we suspect the issue is specific to the xDrive model.

Has anyone confirmed that this is a glitch in the ordering system rather than an inability to order black 826m rims with the AWD?

I have a production order number at 112 status for a 22 model year M3 Comp xDrive and am also having trouble getting the BLACK 826M wheels (1U0) and BMW is substituting the bi-color 826M (1T8) instead. The order is switching to 1T8 - the same wheel in bi-color. Not sure why this is occurring yet. I checked with BMW Genius and they did not see a reason. The guy found no supply issues or limitations on the xDrive model showing. No issues showing for 1U0. Some markets also offer 1U1, which is the same black 826M wheel with track tires (I assume Michelin Cups), but this is not available for North America - according to the BMW Genius I spoke with.

Since the 1T8 and 1U0 are both the same 826M wheel and just a finish/color issue, it seems reasonable that either could be produced.

Any ideas out there on the 1U0 black wheel problem?

Maybe a glitch in the ordering system. There are currently only 3 choices for wheels on the xDrive

I've contacted 2 BMW dealerships which I got allocations for, and both weren't able to spec out the 826 black rims due to it being back ordered. I'm guessing it's a stock issue and is universal across the board for any new 2022 builds. I'm not going to chance not getting the allocation and ended up with the 826 bicolor ones.

I was never able to get a straight answer from my dealership.

I think that's the safe bet - get the bicolor and adjust (aka powder coat) in the future if needed...

What a pain in the ass though , need to take off tires and get them painted. Plus not sure if you are supposed to do that if you lease .

I just heard back from my sales advisor and the inventory manager at my dealer was able to get the black 826M wheels optioned on my order. As noted by a few people here, the option code for 2022 models switched form 1U0 in the BMW ordering system to ZWH. I am not certain whether this is only for xDrive models.
