12v Cigarette Lighter not working on Radar Detector

Hi, anyone know why my 12v charger in the center front doesn't work with my Escort Radar Detector? The detector works fine when tested with the trunk based 12v plug.

Weird that the front 12v isn't working and allot of hassle to get a hard wired install done as too busy to take the car somewhere.

Thanks

It worked with my Uniden R7 plug but there are some posts here (and I think on the G20 board) about it being too deep for Escort plugs without modification to the plug.

I balled up aluminum foil and stuck it in the bottom.

I had the dealership replace the interior socket for the one that is used in the trunk. Works fine now.
