USB ios carplay
Does the M3C support wired carplay via USB? I am less than impressed by the audio quality of the wireless connection. I did try connecting my iphone 12 pro via the normal usb right below the temperature buttons and it said invalid usb device. Wondering if it needs to use the USB-C under the arm rest?

Just confirmed that access was allowed. Tried again today and it detects my phone is plugged in (I set wifi and BT to off) but nothing plays through speakers.

Carplay over WiFi (standard connection) is CD quality. Bluetooth connection is bad. The only thing you can do is adjust the HK EQ. Even so, the HK system is not great, but there is not much of a bitrate loss from the WiFi connection that you would get over a USB connection
edit: source for this, as the lightning connection cannot transmit higher than CD quality anyway.
