Post M Drive Professional is a gimmick

M Drive Pro is a gimmick. (No real world benefit to MTC over MDM, which is standard. So you're only paying for the Drift Analyzer.) You could skip that and save another $900. In combination with skipping the Carbon Exterior pack, that would bring you down to $95795 (saving about $100/month on a 5 year loan).

Yes, I could. Probably just going to go for it though. I hope they add a darker gray as a standard color so I don't have to pay extra for Dravit. BG is too light for me, but I'm not in love with Dravit.

It's really the M Carbon Exterior I'm on the fence about. I really don't need it and $4,700 is pretty expensive. We'll see. They have to release the order guides first!

It has that track function for lap timing if you're into that it would probably be valuable. Otherwise agree, I'll be skipping it.

Most HPDEs require you not to time yourself. If you do want to do that there are apps for your phone that work pretty well and cost $20.

It might be a buy for some but it's an easy pass for me...

I agree with you. I also think the M Drivers Package is over priced, but it is a must have because it raises the top speed limiter.

I agree - M Drivers Package is a scam. It’s $1200 more than just signing up for M Driver School as a BMWCCA member. Is raising the speed limiter from 155 MPH to 180 MPH worth $1200 to you? When are you going to drive over 155 MPH, even on a track?

Agreed, I don't drift and it's not just the 900 in savings on the option, the tires too

I hadn't really thought of it like that. I always assumed that MTC was better than MDM. The drift analyzer etc is just a gimmick.
Didn't it also come with a drive recorder to record video of any even using the front cam or am I just remembering something I would want.

Drive Recorder is part of the Parking Assistance Package.
I didn't know whether MTC was different/better than MDM until I read ///AVM's post here: https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=120

I am in Germany and I would definitely say that it is worth it to have the higher speed limiter. I have a hit my 162mph speed limiter several times in my M340i. It gets there extremely quick.

I agree the CF is pricey, however to me it's worth it. I feel it adds a lot to the look of the car. I am a fan of carbon fiber so i would spend the money. Oh and how about that carbon fiber engine cover!
