Laser headlights = Valentine1 falsing
If this has been reported before, apologies. I confirmed with Valentine1 that the laser headlights will set off the detector. I programmed mine to turn the laser detection off - so radar only. They said they may do a firmware update but that the issue is a difficult one.

I’ve seen before that people tape up a sensor on the rear view mirror or dash area where the sensor is eminating from.
Check the F80 forum as that’s where I’ve seen it. May not be applicable for the G series but worth a look. |

I have not witnessed the V1 gen 1 or gen 2 causing any issues. The gesture control will set off the rear laser alert. Taping over the rear sensor cures this problem.

Maybe changing the position of it will make a difference since it's picking up the light that bounces back from reflective objects. |

The iDrive screen sets off my Radenso, interesting to see if it will get triggered by laser lights too

I have mine mounted under the mirror and pushed as far forward towards the windshield as the mount allows, and it only falses from the gesture system when I put my hand up to the mirror to activate the homelink, I assume it's bouncing off my arm to cause it. Not really a big deal so I'm just leaving it as-is.

OT, but do you have any good ideas on how to mount it down low? I've always had mine in the left lower corner of the window. I know, maybe not the best location for picking things up, but its always been fine and I like that its down out of the way. My problem in this car is that there isn't a place to plug it in. In the last car I plugged into the 12V in the passenger footwell. There isn't a good place now. The outlet by the cupholders would be rather unsightly for a wire to be running from.

I used to go through the trouble of direct wiring them for the stealth, but I gave up on the whole process with my last few cars. I just mount it as low as possible and plug into the 12v jack under iDrive. Haven't got the G80 yet, so not sure how that will go. |

Oops, my initial post was incorrect. I also was plugging it into the 12v under the idrive. I was plugging my phone charger into the passenger footwell. In any case, I'm willing to accept what I consider to be small risk/benefit of having it on the lower window to have it less conspicuous and out of the way. There is just no good place to plug it in in this car.
