Which navigation do you use?

Do you use the stock nav, or Waze or Google Maps or another?

I'd like to use the built in nav, but wireless android auto integration works so well that it's hard to pass up on the crowdsourced info of Waze. I know the car has some crowd sourced info, but not where police are sitting.

Unless I haven't figured it out yet, the only way to put stuff into Waze is via the onscreen keyboard which you can only use when you are stopped. Is there a verbal way to do it?

I use Waze on iOS / CarPlay.

There is a way to enter addresses or descriptions via voice.

You hold the microphone button to activate Siri and then give the voice command.

You need to pair it with Apple play instead of iDrive in that case

waze on android auto exclusively for me... speed enforcement up here has gotten a lot tighter since the pandemic. Having directions onto HUD is the cherry on top. I gave the idrive nav a few shots too and it works quite well, do like the map display in the HUD!

long press on the microphone button on steering wheel and it triggers google assistant.... if you prefer to type, on the on-screen keyboard there's a phone icon that then lets you type out on your phone

I use Google maps mainly and sometimes Waze because of the police notifications.

Rarely use the built in navigation unless I want the directions shown on the HUD.

Thanks. I remember now reading somewhere about short press to talk to the car and long press to talk to your phone.
