Are the WeatherTech floor mats better than the OEM floor mats?

Just ordered my car. I had them include a set of all weather floor mats for $180. Are the WeatherTech mats better than the OEM mats or are they more or less the same thing?

Weathertech are quite inferior to the OEM mats. Weathertech liners are hard plastic. OEM is a heavy duty rubber, much more premium feel. I would get the OEM liners if you want a little more coverage.

If you dont have young kids or lots of rain and snow, the OEM all weather mats are good. If you do, try Tuxmats. They r more comfortable than weather techs and protect the sides much more esp for the rears. I got the OEM ones first but with kids constantly trying to climb over the transmission hump, got tuxmats for the rear and so have the best of both worlds.

The 3D MAXpider mats are pretty cool as well. Just installed a pair in our X5 and the pattern matches the anthracite head liner. Thinking of getting some for my M3.

I’ll say OEM. Also, the OEM has a BMW logo.

OEM mats i find to be a bit shallow compared to weathertech. Keep that in mind if you are worried about mud or snow. The carpets around my OEM mats are filthy where the weathertech would have protected them.
