Everywhere in SoCal crazy over MSRP

I read some of you get deals for msrp is it just luck or do you have a long time relationship with the associate? I cant justify paying $10k over

I was under the impression that PCD is not available at the CA location. Had this changed?

I did not know performance center delivery was offered for Thermal. Thought only SC. If this is true, I may need to call my SA.

Get your name on as many waiting lists as you can at volume dealers that are selling at MSRP. It might take a couple of months but you'll be able to snag an allocation at MSRP or very close to it. Those dealers that sell at MSRP will likely mark up the APR by 1% so be prepared for that.

Is it not? That would be news to me.

Has anyone done it there? Please comment if so...

EDIT: looking closely at that link under the delivery tab, it does only mention Greer. I swear I've read that folks have taken delivery there, but maybe that was back when I was drinking heavily as I was agreeing to a near MSRP deal for my car. My apologies if I'm wrong....

You might have to expand your search. I called dealers across states and added my name in several dealer waitlists. Some dealers would want a refundable deposit and other might not.

Couple of weeks later, one of them called and gave my production number. I was expecting a long wait and was really surprised. I had zero buying history with that dealer in the past.

Hahaha, most likely. PCD can only be done in SC, CA was never an option.

10K over MSRP is the norm in SoCal at least this was the case about two months ago when I was searching. I had a dealer asking for as much as 20K over. MSRP in SoCal can be had if your willing to wait. Idk of any dealerships willing to do MSRP on an available and open to configure allocation at least not in SoCal.

Crevier had 3 allocations two weeks ago and they wanted $18K over MSRP

Best bet is to either look out of state or get your name on a waiting list with those dealers selling at MSRP, you can find them here by searching. You'll probably have to wait a couple of months before you get an allocation but at least you won't pay stupid $ for it.

I guess I got lucky. Called a dealer that had a G83 as I wanted to sit in an M car and see it up close. Went there and looked it over, love at first sight. I was told it is 5k over to order the G82 I wanted.

Waited 2 days and called my guy. Said I am ready to give a deposit, but only at MSRP. He needed 1 day to get back to me, but agreed to my offer. I went in with a $1000 credit card payment (fully refundable through the car arriving and taking a test drive), he ordered the car and I had a production # the next day. I am supposedly week 11.

If it makes you feel better, I ordered a Cadillac CT5-V Blacking in September (also at MSRP) but the order has not advanced at all. In fact, it is technically not even accepted by the brand. The M4 was my second choice (very different machine, I know) but I am very excited for it. I thought about the base manual M4, but knowing that supercharged V8 Blackwing is out there with a 6MT Tremec, that is the only manual I'll get.

Hang in there and don't pay over retail. It is crazy to imagine how many people are going to be incredibly upside down on car purchases made last year and this year.

Plenty M4 @ MSRP anywhere.

M3 is the one which will only get worse from here.

How times have changed as just a few years ago we we were aiming at invoice deals.

The M3 is the same demand as the M2.

Not to hijack too much, but my friend received his CT5VBW in 4 weeks, manual, fully loaded, paid MSRP. I was on the Z06 forum a bit, and so many are paying $50K premium and waiting a year or three.
Very thankful my M4CX won't be that long of a wait. In fact, I am glad it'll be around April because I'm picking it up out of state with two gnarly mountain passes on the beautiful drive home.
