Has the ecu been unlocked??? I haven't been here in a couple weeks. I was considering the jb4 chip but if there are tuning possibilities

yes it has but i believe you still have to send it to russia, at least last time i checked

You need to send it to Femto to be unlocked, or you'll need to get an older X3M X4M ECU

Trust me when I say this, when there's an OBD unlock - you'll see this forum inundated with questions about how it's done, cost, what can be done, etc.

A JB4 isn't bad at all if you're looking for some extra power to hold you until your car gets an actual tune.

Same, im installing the JB4 soon until the bm3 OBD flash is available

JB4 will always throw a CEL warning, correct?

The Jb4 does not throw a check engine warning light.

You only get the CEL if you replace the stock downpipes with catless or catted high-flow pipes.

The only exception to the rule is the active autowerke catted downpipe, which uses GESI EPA-approved cats. They don't trigger the check engine light.

Perfect. Thank you for the clarification. Going mild. I will be running stock dp and stock cats. Only both resonators deleted on Map 3 with 93 octane on my 6MT M4. So I think I should be happy

I just got my G80 ecu back from Russia. Femtoevo did a great job keeping it all secure. Now that it is unlocked Cary Jordan will be tuning it with custom maps. Will keep you guys updated but just letting you know the process was super smooth.

What license type did you get from femto? Would standard be enough to get a custom tune? Or is something like the master type required for custom tunes? First time tuning, on a G80

We've done plenty. (I think probably more than anyone, lol)

We handle the entire process/logistics for you. There are multiple options of tuning the stock ECU or cloning depending on what your goals are with the car/budget.

You don't need to buy a flasher license if you're end-user, only tuners need it, if they want to upload their files using our flasher. Other flashers which are supporting our unlock:

- MHD
- BM3

Are you able to offer this service remotely? If one was to get the ECU removed themselves and sent to femto for unlock.
