Those that are still waiting, what model are you getting?

I was surprised that I got an M3 Comp RWD allocation in literally a week, especially when so many people on here keep talking about having to wait months for an allocation.

So that got me thinking... maybe it has something to do with the model we keep ordering. So in this case, BMW categorizes G80/G82 into 6 models.
  • M3 6spd
  • M3 Competition RWD
  • M3 Competition xDrive
  • M4 6spd
  • M4 Competition RWD
  • M4 Competition xDrive

So... which one are you, and how long have you been waiting?

I found two M4 allocations over the course of 3-4 weeks but I was contacting dealers from here in North Carolina to as far north as NJ/Philly area.

Secured allocation today with a dealer in Virginia; M4 6spd

I believe M3 AWD has higher demand than all other models.

I secured a M3c RWD allocation within a couple of weeks after submitting my build to the dealer. AWD orders who were ahead of me in the dealer waitlist are still waiting for their allocations even though a M3 allocation can be configured as base, comp rwd or comp awd.

I believe that may be incorrect. It only seems as if G80 AWD (G80 in general) is more in demand because there are far fewer allocations. I’m not sure we’l ever know exactly, but 2 doors (M3 Coupe/M4) have always outsold 4 door M3.

I would love to see the M3/4 breakdown numbers.

In general, we hear more about leads to readily available M4 allocations in the forum and my comment was based on that.

Seeing as how I'm coming from an X3MC, which is also not a real M car, it seems that I'm dancing on the fringes of the M world. I'll get in one day.

My Boise dealer told me the M3CX is their longest wait. At least 6 or 7 months til I got a build, and they wanted 5K refundable deposit. Then I changed my mind to the M4CX, and received an allocation and build number in a few weeks from a very attentive and quick-replying SA named Reza at Bellevue BMW which is a much larger dealership. MSRP, no hidden fees, $995 delivery.
