Daaam. I wanted to order a G80 Xdrive SPY over YMB race buckets and carbon roof, competition package.

I wont buy this car with mark up though.

Is that just to get sooner?

Does anyone know the normal wait times? Im guessing 8 months right?

Thanks

Putting a deposit on an M3 today but not expecting an allocation for roughly six months. Will BMWFS allow me to lock in today's MF?

Rate lock is valid only for 90 days in east coast and 120 days in west coast. You can lock rates once you are within this window for your delivery.

Those are high monthly payments. When the market corrects, you'll be up Shits Creek

How far in advance can they commit to a rate? I have a mid March build, I'd expect to see my car in May🤞

It's a good bet interest rates will rise early Spring, I'd like to get ahead and that but I don't know if that will be possible.

Granted they can't lock-in the rates now for a Spring delivery, but I'll probably still do it. I'm just going on the record to say it's quite annoying that I could get into an M5C (much bigger discount and better residual) for the same money, or wait another year to get the same car for less than $1k/mo and feel better about myself... Oh well. I suppose I spend $300+ more a month on many different things that are much worse.
Yeah I'd hold back if possible. That's an extra $10k that you probably won't have to pay after BMW realizes this things aren't flying out of the dealership.
Things aren't flying into the dealership either. Almost no dealers have an M car in the ground you can just buy unless and order fell through. There is no such thing as a "deal" in this market.

2 F80's in a row was the great lease deals that couldn't be beat by the competition.
Except the competition beat it in nearly every measurable category. Power, technology, luxury, handling, acceleration…the list goes on. BWW had to make the leases attractive because why wouldn't you get a C63 coupe if the payments were the same instead of $400 different. Now, the new M3/M4 is a powerhouse, loaded with tech, and finally has AWD available. People will pay. And BMW knows it. Especially with the limited quantity available because of the global supply chain issues.
