Since you are used to catless + midpipe, I don't think its going to be too loud for you

It cannot be done, the midpipes are one piece all the way to the exhaust from the factory. You have to change the midpipes and exhaust to avoid cutting.

+1

to avoid cutting, you need a full catback that connects from the downpipes, similar to Active Autowerke, Valvetronic.

REMUS and Akrapovic (US versions) will need to be cut even if you get their catback versions

Another option would be to use the active autowerke midpipe with your favorite axle back

Active offers 3 different midpipe, it'll fix your problem and you can still get the design you want

The x-pipe is offered with a straight pipe or catted.

I want a single mid pipe but don't understand the differences between an equal length versus no equal length mid pipe. Advantages vs disadvantages of each set up? Any help would be appreciated.

I didn't know there were two choices. Great question!

You're thinking of the F8x chassis where you had equal length and nonequal length choices. The equal length on the older chassis was designed to fix the uneven midpipes

With the G8x chassis, the two pipes are equal in length, so there is no need to fix anything. You can get the dual midpipe like the X-pipe, or a single midpipe

In my opinion anyway, others may disagree.
What exhaust do you have fitted to your m3? I want to avoid using the cable if possible.

I had a very basic res delete on my GTI before buying the m4.

Is there anything as simple that exists for the G80/2?

The midpipe is the simple route just two simple pre-marked cuts and bolt it on.

Equal Length. All three of these are available on the G8x. Other threads discuss sound differences.

And AA has a 4th, race only.

You are responding to a post from 2022; if I remember correctly, at that time, the equal length was not available yet.
