Hi guys
After a bitter sweet ownership experience with my f80 comp, horrendous chassis nvh on coarse bitumen and unbearabley stiff suspension on our bumpy b roads, and vowing never to buy another M car again, here I am back at bmw ordering a g80 With the ice era ending, and having ordered an rs6 performance, I was thinking what would compliment a big v8 comfy wagon on air but also have space for the kiddo to take out with me - this lead me back to the m3, specifically with the manual I watched all the reviews where comments about ride quality being vastly improved seemed to be common, things were looking good, so I grabbed a demo and took it for a quick hill run Wow what a difference, chalk and cheese compared to my f80, it’s still firm but M seems to have finally learned in this final ice iteration how to develop a dampener that works on our roads, there was no crash, no jarring over broken shoulders, it just absorbed it all, and this despite the demo Tyre pressures being in the 50s. Even the nvh from the solid mounted rear subframe has been dampened out, not entirely but livable now I’m waiting for the order books to open on the lci, so I can grab a manual sports sedan before they’re gone for good - with individual paint, buckets, ceramics, no carbon and fingers crossed the return of a sunroof option like I spec’d in my f80. I’d prefer the full leather dash but seems bmw aus want to offer the manual as a stripper spec - might have to look into individual program to do that Has anyone got any info on lci orders, my dealer said all you can do at this stage is an EOI, but I’ve ordered a few cars over the Rona period, and getting in early seems to be the trick |
