individual paint question

I can't believe it. After over 4 months of waiting,I finally secured my allocation today!!!!!

Im being told that it takes almost a year for an individual paint option (frozen dark grey). Is this really true???

It shouldn't take that long but you should anticipate that'll it'll take a month or 2 longer than standard paint.

Did your dealership get another round of allocations today? I am still waiting for mine and I am #1 on their list.

Individual typically will delay and order about 4 weeks. At this point though, who the hell knows what is fully causing delays to builds as there doesn't seem to be a specific rhyme or reason to it other than the global chip/part shortages. I have a very similar build to another member on here, including the same individual color, and they got bumped several weeks more than I and are still waiting to be built where as I'm on a boat to the states. And we initially started off with the same build week of 35. Nothing makes sense at this point…

My order was originally week 31. Indiv paint pushed it to 36, then it got pushed to 39. Sitting in QC since 9/30. Obviously not all of that is due to indiv paint, but it will push the timeline out substantially.

Not a year. Weeks, 1+ month, sure. Mine was the difference between July and August production dates. I gave up a July allocation for it, it was built in August and finally got on a ship last week. ~6 months from production number to leaving Bremerhaven port.

That's not bad at all. If I get the car by the end of march, I'll be thrilled.

First off, congrats on your order! Are you on IG?

I ordered an individual G80 back in June, my dealer just got my car delivered today. So that was almost 5 months it took. I hope to get it on Saturday, if you are on IG look me up luckym3girlnj

5 months will be perfect, obviously living in the north east our car season is over with. If I'm lucky to get in 5 months, it will be just in time for the salt season to go away.

What color is your G80? Love your f80 color btw.

That's about what I am seeing for mine. It landed in Charleston on Sunday and was about 6 months from order being put in and accepted with my individual paint. I got bumped twice but individual only added maybe 4 weeks max.

Wow so the standard even without individual paint is a 5 month wait…6 months will be pushing it. It will be April, I definitely will want to start driving the car then.

Nice colour choice...

FWIW, timeline on my FDG G80CX was:
  • order placed 24 Mar (this year)
  • production date was 31 July
  • arrived in Australia (east coast) 14 Oct
  • released from bearing shell stop sale 25 Oct
  • expected delivery 1 Nov

Congrats and enjoy the wait!

4-6 months sounds about right. I have FDG on order. Looks like November delivery. 5 1/2 months waiting time.

My individual order went in during August and my boat is scheduled to land Nov 8th. Six months is a fair rough estimate- especially to psychologically prepare yourself for the worst case scenario.

I think a year is very unlikely if you do have a production number secured. To me it seems like things are clearing up and moving faster, especially with the RAM stop sales. US also seems to be prioritized over the rest of the world, which should help you.

Mine sat at port for a while, likely because of differences in shipping to Canada vs US. Took much longer to get loaded than anticipated.

So mine was ~6 months from getting a production number to leaving port. Another month to get to me, since I'm on the west coast and it crosses Canada by rail. I'm expecting it will be here by EOM November, maybe padded by a bit of extra time for the ppf+ceramic before delivery.

Placed my order June 9, eventually got bumped from week 27 to week 35. Car just got to the destination port yesterday or the day before. Waiting on stop sale stuff now... Definitely won't get the car until sometime in November at the earliest.

And ...it's a race to get the first SMB on the forums. Looking forward to pics - hope they resolve the stop sale soon!
