2022/2023
Question....so if people have had their 2022 M3 xdrive since the summer, if you ordered a 2022 but it doesnt come in until after January 1, will it be a 2023? or when will it switch to 2023?

Model year change overs vary by manufacturer and model. The G8X changed over Week 27 or end of June production so expecting same going forward.

Model switchover is in summer and normally next years' units start showing up in August/September. This of course can vary greatly. They will be shipping 22s well into 2022.

As stated, 2022 models will continue to be produced until about mid 2022. The switch over to 2023 models should be the June/July timeframe. Probably won't see a 2023 model hit the US until late August or early September depending upon any delays in shipping/chip shortages/stop sales, etc.
The 2023 G80 models should also be the LCI, so expect some changes as well. Remains to be seen for certain if the new iDrive 8 and it's associated all in one dash screen will come to the G80, however, rumors seem to be pretty strong that it will be.
