G80 M3 xDrive Review
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Having owned our RWD G80 M3 Competition from launch we have a fair amount of experience to see just how different this car is. We are also looking forward to receiving our xDrive M4 next month. |

All things being equal, I still prefer a RWD car. I spent my 20's and early 30's driving Audi's (they abandoned the 6MT and drove me into BMW's arms with the F80 and I only wish I had left 10 years earlier).
Good feedback as always from Evolve.

Obviously it's only one review so far but the good news is its all positive in terms of same driving feel as RWD and responsiveness with an increase in grip and confidence which were the big unknowns. Plus, the RWD option is this there when the mood strikes

Hmmm, don't know how old you are, but chances are high that Audi was still using V8 engines mounted in front of the axle and provoking understeer. While (you know) BMW is all about vehicle dynamics, equal weight distribution, and more neutral behaviour. The 4WD is not really changing that, it just adds more grip.

Thank you, Imran. Great review. I can't wait until someone puts this car on the lift, so we can see the AWD geometry.

Good review - good to see it still retains the feel of a RWD car.
One of these with downpipes and a tune is going to be epic! Isle of Man M3 for me I think once prices come down a bit.....

I understand your point, but the RWD experience is a little sportier.

I have trained in the F90 at the Ring, as 1 1/2 days of the program was in rain. The MxDrive was impressive, especially coming out of the slick turns, that I had no second thoughts with the G80/82/83 getting the system.
Makes sense with all the part/chip shortages that there hasn't been any formal press reviews for the G83. Those of that are ordering are going in site unseen
