Oh that is awesome. I love the E36 and used to subscribe to BMW Car the UK magazine, a guy has a Boston Green GT too. Amazing car and yes extremely limited.

British Racing Green E36 M3 GT
Interlagos Blue E46 M3

@ProdigyM3:

All photos were taken by me, ProdigyM3. Hope you all enjoy the content, hopefully next time we can get an e30 involved!
Thanks for sharing, special collection of cars there. Congrats on your G80.

This. That car is waaaaayy harder to come by than an e30 m3. I can't believe you had one for this. So cool to see.

The E46 is timeless in design and still my all time favourite. The G80 is definitely the "ugly duckling" out of the lot

Nice shoot man, and thanks for sharing. I've been on here for a while and rarely post, hence the low rep. As a person who's always loved the M3, I can appreciate the shoot. Hopefully, you can get one with the E30 to complete the set and share that next time.

As for those dissing your G80, don't mind 'em man. G80 is honestly growing on me just like most several of the others had to. I own an F80 and hated the sound of it after loving the sound of the E92 (best sound IMO) before I decided to purchase one. E46 is still my favorite of all M3s. I just love the way it drives, sits, looks, etc.

My point is everyone is gonna give their opinion and diss the G80 because of its grill, the F80 because of it sound (or numb steering (STFU you're not an expert and come up with something different)), E92 because it's "aging", etc. They all sound "different", drive different, look different from each other and other cars. Honestly, IMO I don't think any of them sound better than a C63, but I would still take the M3 over one any day of the week. Maybe I'm a bit of a purist. Idk.

Anyway, enjoy your car in good health and drive safe. Beautiful color on that G80 of yours and love the blues on the E46 and F80.

Thanks again. Get that E30 and share some more with us.

If they had the front grill up to the bumper instead of hanging down all the way, by far it would have been the nicest looking sport sedan ever. Sucks though!

E46 all day for me. It's the pinnacle of BMWs classy and understated design. The car looks somewhat ordinary but is an absolute beast (for it's day) underneath.

You can clearly see the evolution towards a more and more aggressive design language, and while I like them all, the G80 just feels like it's trying too hard to be badass. It's an M car, you don't have to try so hard.

The e46 looks like a family sedan, but drives like a sports car. I think that's what makes it so unique. The G80 looks like a sports car that drives like a sports car….just like every other sports car…and in that way is no longer unique. That said I'd still drive one

Anyway, thanks for the photoshoot. Great way to compare!

Like another poster said these will make great wallpapers. I know I miss the power dome on the G80 after seeing it on these again. Thanks for sharing!

Awesome photos! That'd be cool to do a video with exhaust note comparisons too.

I've owned both E92 and E90. Each to their own.
Of course well maintained Ms will always appreciate in value.
Just my 0.02 cents.

Going to agree with LemonOne here. The E90 is not aging well whatsoever, unfortunately.

Fair everyone has their opinion. Having owned a number of gens incl. E90 and E92 to name a few I believe the market and general enthusiast community view it favorably and as a future classic for sure.

I'm not commenting at all about the G80 so as not to offend people's delicate sensibilities here….but i wanted to post my props for that E36 M3 GT.

I've long believed the E36 is the ugly duckling out of the M3's E30 to F80, but that M3 GT more than holds its own in this photoshoot. Hope you guys had a fun time

Never thought I would say this, but M3 CS looks best here. Too bad it never came in manual or it would have been mine. Doh!

1. E46 this car looks special
2. e30 this car drives special
3. F80
4. and the rest.

The M3 just keep getting bigger and bigger and no longer looks like a sports car/sedan. They are starting to take the shape of American coupes like the Camaro and Mustang. In my opinion that is why the E46 look so special. it has perfect proportions for a sport sedan/sport car. The current M3 is longer than the e39 M5.
That said on the driving front the G80 has a cracking engine.

Visual power ranking in my eyes…

1 - E46 M3 CSL
2 - F82 M4 CS
3 - E30 M3 Sport Evo
4 - E36 M3 GT

The rest, couldn't care less.

Wow, 4 pages of nonsense comments about modern m3s and not one comment about the total UNICORN in this photo- Brg e36 GT! Are you all blind? Tells me how old i am i guess.

Only 356 od them were built and likely much less than that in existence. Probably most expensive car in that photo.

Not to mention even less in the U.S. considering they were never sold here
