SoCal M3 Generations Photoshoot: E36 to G80

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Just wanted to share photos from a photoshoot several of us got together to do this weekend.

Got every generation of the M3 minus the E30, which was a bit harder to find but made for a great photoshoot.

Great to get different colored cars for each generation and to get one of the only M3 GTs in America!

Car owners instagram accounts:

@E36.M3GT:
British Racing Green E36 M3 GT
Interlagos Blue E46 M3
San Marino Blue F80 M3 CS

@Dime.M3:
Jerez Black E90 M3

@ProdigyM3:
Toronto Red G80 M3

All photos were taken by me, ProdigyM3. Hope you all enjoy the content, hopefully next time we can get an e30 involved!

Glad to see different generations getting along instead of being douchebags about grilles and whatnot.

It's also cool to see the design evolution from generation to generation. All the previous generations have aged really nicely. Can't say that for many cars...

It's because it's in the middle of the picture so the wide angle camera makes a fish-eye effect. Not fair for the G80 with its already large grill!

Awesome shots! To this day F8x generation is my favourite, even after owning E46, E92 M3, F82 M4 and not minding the big grills of G8x. E9x is just perfect

It's also the furthest from the camera in that shot

Design architecture-wise, the F80/82 is the pinnacle IMHO.

Generations before the F80/82 now look old, tired and dated; the subsequent generation missed the mark 'big' time.

Not the point of this thread, but if we were talking performance. . . indeed, the G80/82 are ultimate driving machines.

All instantly recognizable as BMW M3 except for one. Would love to see if this is a turning point design wise or if its just a fluke by BMW. We will know when someone takes a pic like this 20 years from now.

I have to say all of the older models aged really well.

The E9X is such a clean and compact shape/size. Also has the nicest hood, in my opinion.

The E9X generation was perfection in my eyes. It was such a smooth transition from classic e46 to the modern F8X
