Build Week 44 Discussion

No production number, no allocation.. you should ask around at other dealers and only put a deposit down if they can give you a production number on the spot. I got my allocation and production number on 9/4 and I am week 44, so I should be quite surprised if a build without an allocation yet was also week 44.

My build has been delayed several times. My approximate timeline:

Order placed late July
Allocation early August
Build scheduled for week 39
Moved from 111 to 112 twice in September
Moved back from 112 to 111 twice in September
Build delayed from week 39 to week 44
Build moved up from week 44 to week 41
Build delayed from week 41 to week 43

As you can see from the above, there is just no telling. Some folks seem to have faired much better than I, however.

I knew about the frozen and individual paints but is it true carbon seat builds are taking longer? I haven't seen anything about that yet.

I have no idea what the build week is anymore and tbh ive kinda given up tracking it. I did get moved back to 112 status today even with the color change to TB2. Tried to call Genius, was on hold for 15 mins and call disconnected. Didn't bother calling back.

I havent changed shit and went from wk 35–>37–>44. I am done with tracking and dont give any fucks anymore.

So I've been going back into the week 40/42 threads to tell them I will see them here in week 44 sooner or later...lol.

Well I’m supposedly here now too. Was told it was a week 40 build from dealer. Called genius and was told it’s week 41. Went from 111 to 112 2 weeks ago. Last week went back to 111 and now being told week 44.

Blue calipers

Ugh.

Do you have agreed price in writing? That is shady and I hate that for you. I had an issue with my dealership where they tried to give my allocation away. In fact they did to someone local. And I had everything in writing and was working on my build with the CA. That said, a quick call to the GM telling him that I wanted to let him know what I will be telling BMW NA on the phone after we got off caught his attention. Shady practices like this I'm sure don't go over very well with Corporate. I can tell you that this is the same with Porsche NA. They don't play.

Long story short, I have a production number and a week 42 build. Don't let these guys screw with you. Be professional and take it to the top. Let them know that you won't back down and will purse as far as it needs to go. Trust me, they don't want that.

So my order went in at the end of July and I received a production number. Week 36. It came and went and I went backwards. Finally heard from my SA week 44 now. I have no idea how people say they put in an order in September and are the same week. I thought maybe it was parking assist but have seen many with PA move on. Maybe its full leather? I just can't find the correlation with those who go to production and those who get pushed?
