My status went to 112 last week and now back to 111. Called Genius and basically moved to 44. He said originally it was requested for week 36. Now I don't know if this is true, but he said week 36 can be produced anywhere between week 36 and 44. A two month window. His story was it won't go past 44. mmm hmm. We'll see. Off to the week 44 thread.

I did and I know what your thinking. I actually secured an allocation that was already accepted, but was able to change to how I wanted it.

That said, I also originally had the allocation in writing, submitted my build to the CA, and then was told a day later that the allocation was actually taken by another customer 2 days prior. Long story short, I had everything in writing, went straight to the GM, and got it back to me as it should have been. I lit that dealership up and was not going to back down and they figured much so. Good thing they did the right thing, was gonna get really nasty.

I've went from week 35 to 37 to 40 and now I'm 41. Most frustrating thing is there seems to be no rhyme or reason for any of the bumps.

That's great, I was just asking in case you didn't know how it worked and the dealer was trying to take you for a ride without having an allocation. Seems to be happening to a lot of people.

Even after getting assurance from the GM that it was now back to me, I still didn't believe anything until I got my production number with my name on the build sheet. I pushed them and they got it back quickly.

When I was in limbo waiting on the issue, I called all over the southeast and did not get anywhere. Though the savannah GA bmw dealer called me back stating a customer bailed out and the build had time to change, but already got me situation fixed. It's like trying to find the golden ticket in a wonka bar with these things.

Just called genius and was told on track for week 41 finish and should start production any day. 1st time I called last week I was told expected start date was Oct 11th week 41. Seen conflicting info in these forums on what week means whether start or finish. So maybe I miss understood on the first call. Who knows.

Did my usual check when I woke up this morning and I’m at “Production Begins” and it’s showing a VIN.

Congrats! I'm still holding steady at 112, but let's hope we start flipping to 150 this week.

Are you able to track the car on the BMW app now that you have a VIN?

Best I can tell, no. I think you have to have the actual vehicle to link it in the app. Anyone know otherwise?

Can't you just go to My BMW app and put your production number in or VIN. That's what I did and populated my car and I was able to follow it all the way thru...

That's what I was thinking too. We should be able to once the car has a VIN. I don't think that guy knows what he's talking about.
