So the VIN recall checker is down, I am guessing BMW have shut it down for the time being which sucks!

Anyway, I checked my VIN using mdecoder and it turns out I am production date 10/8, so I was week 40 after all!

I checked with Genius, and I am still in transit to port (dispatched from factory status).

He was also able to confirm my car has no delivery stops from what he sees on the system.

Fingers crossed I got lucky!

I just called the genius. Good news. It looks like my car has left the factory and is on the way to the port. It looks like the online tracker in my garage just hasn't updated yet.

Been in QC since last Wednesday. My completion date was supposed to be 10/7. Just called genius and he said he is still showing me in QC as well seems like I’m always the last person to move forward. He also said that they are not allowed to share any information on stop sales that’s the first time any of them have told me that he said I need to contact my CA.

Actually, Friday was the first time that any Genius told me to contact my CA. However, they were able to tell me that I didn't have any stop sale orders.

Went into quality check Friday, still there. Called genius and that's what they see as well so the online tracker is up to date. No updated completion date. Genius didn't see any stop sales on the car so not sure what the hold up is.

I truly believe this is where BMW AG or BMW NA could improve.
I'm sure the tracking system is perfectly set up for each and every MFG process in the plants, it's just the data integration or accessing it from different access points that's really piss poor.
How can 2 operators give 2 different information on a car's status?

Day 2 of being in transit - expecting to reach port later today.

Genius still stating he can't see any stop sales on the system for my car. I know I won't know for sure until it's at the port.

In other news, the BMW Driver's Guide app finally recognises my car's VIN and I can now download the Owner's Manual!

I’m still in QC too…. I’ve seen some other forum members still in QC for 1 month… so It could be worse… hopefully finish this week 🤞

You won't know what boat you are on until about 2 days after the car is loaded onto it. Once your status updates to in transit the Genius or your CA can tell you the boat you are on.

Do you have any idea of what kind of delay that might cause us?

The information is all over the place. Can be one or a couple of days or could be months. Rumor is it that a lot of stops sales were lifted this week meaning the port probably has the parts in stock. We can only hope

Just spoke to my CA. He didn't have any explanation for the 8 day Quality Check. His conjecture is that there are a bunch of cars that may be affected by a recall but haven't left the factory. So they aren't technically recalled. He told me that if it were still in QC on Friday, he would call corporate and have them try to track it. Not exactly sure what that means.
