Checked 30 minutes ago, I'm currently "at the port"!!!!

Someone said the ship sails this Friday so I think my car is leaving the port Friday!

Hopefully everyone whose cars were completed makes the ship this Friday!

Good luck everyone! We're almost there!
Awesome. I'd temper expectations for getting on a ship leaving this Friday. You'll likely be at the port around 2 weeks. Hope you get through quick!
I'm dispatched from factory also. They're fast on the production side. I'm sure the next steps will not be so fast.

I'm jealous guys! Still 150 but waiting patiently, hope to advance tomorrow or Thursday.

Don't think I will make the "planned completion date" of 10/8.. but who knows!

My car is in final build and I will pick up next week. BSM coming to autobahn near you. I will post pics when I pic up and then it’s off to PPF the front and ceramic coat. Also mounting winter tires as it os a requirement here in Germany.

Prices are skyrocketing on these cars. Petrol cars last of a dying breed
Blessing to everyone that is getting there car produced for week 40.

Wait, wouldn't at the port be literal?

Like I'm "at the port" right now, meaning on the way to the states. Right?

Or do you mean the port at the states in 2 weeks?

If so, then that's great! My salesman has a crystal ball then because he predicted i'd get my car in october since the time i was nagging him about why i didn't have a production number back in early august lol

My first M3 was stuck in Bremerhaven for two weeks before it got a ship. That was just bad luck though because it’s not always the case. Then it took three weeks to cross the Atlantic and it was stuck in freaking Savannah for two weeks. So that stupid car spent a whole months time in two different ports. It sucked.

Damn so there's really no set schedule for all this huh?

Is this how it usually is, or because of post-COVID?

If it makes my situation better, i did breeze right through the whole production thing fairly quickly vs others that i've read where they were stuck in "production begins" for weeks. Or stuck in, "waiting for carrier assignment" for weeks etc.

I literally breezed through all of it.

I gotta stop giving myself false hope LOL

I think you’ll get your car before the end of the year so that’s awesome. If everything goes smooth more than likely before the end of November and that’s really awesome. So I think you are not having false hope.

Same here: on the assembly line yesterday, dispatched from the factory this morning, at the port this afternoon.

Different ships are destined for different U.S. ports. Your car’s going to NJ; mine’s going to Charleston (for PCD). The ship carrying mine may or may not stop in NJ or Baltimore en route to Charleston and subsequent ports — depends on the ship.

We may or may not get on a ship this Friday; in my case, that’s simply the best-case scenario. That won’t happen if there are enough cars in Bremerhaven (and other roll-on ports) ahead of mine. By nature I’m a pragmatic optimist, so I’m aware of the best case but not counting on it.

Ok so here's another question out of false hope lol.

Let's say our cars do leave this friday. And i'm in NJ, 15 minutes from newark (not that it makes a difference because i can't get it from newark), but isn't one of the ports at newark NJ?

If so, let's say our cars leave friday. Would the newark port be the quickest, or first stop, in the states?

Wouldn't it result in a faster delivery time because of this? For me at least? This is assuming our cars leave on friday.

WW has a ship (Asian Majesty) leaving Bremerhaven tomorrow (October 6) and arriving in New York (which is actually Newark) on October 22 after a stop in Halifax. From there it goes through Panama before two more stops on the West Coast. FWIW, it has 3 other stops after Bremerhaven before crossing the Atlantic.

WW’s next ship bound for Charleston is Torino, which leaves Bremerhaven Friday the 8th, has the same 3 other ports of call before it’s Atlantic crossing, stops in Baltimore and Brunswick GA before docking in Charleston October 26.

So yes, you’re right, BGM-M3COMP, but not exactly by the set of assumptions you state.

Note each WW ship sailing between Bremerhaven and Charleston this month has a different number and combination of ports of call, so the days between those ports ranges from 15 to 24 days. Also recall BMW uses two other carriers besides WW, so this is all hypothetical speculation until we each learn which ship our respective cars are on.
