Can't change options on build

I recently was allocated a build slot for my M3, submitted my build code, and signed docs confirming selections 6 days ago. After further research, I changed my mind on the frozen paint and was hoping to switch to Skyscraper Grey. I haven't received any info to track the build yet but my advisor says it is too late to make any changes. I confirmed with him the build status is 112. Have others been successful in making changes after the initial selections? It just seems so early in the process to be completely locked and not able to make changes!

That's it! They are canceling your build!

you are being unappreciative

Cruel jokes aside you should definitely be able to change it under status 112. Not to mention deleting frozen white should expedite the entire process so that you and your dealer get what you both what sooner. So I think the short answer is they can but they don't want to. It's up to you to push them and find out why.

I changed my status 112 car 2 weeks prior to my scheduled week 38 build. I changed from Portimao Blue to TBII and 826M black wheels to 825M bi-color. Now, I did get delayed and now due for week 39, and still in 112, so who knows if week 39 will even stick, but I was able to switch it.

This might be the new trend. Dealers might be shutting out clients earlier in the process.

Maybe because they have less staff to handle all the changes on a car that isn't sold. Maybe because of other reasons.

Who knows.

If the original paint color was an individual color, it would lock the build from any further changes.

Thanks for the responses. I'll roll with the Frozen Grey II color (which is my favorite) I'm just not looking forward to having to delicately wash it every week like many forum members here are describing. Also, I'm not looking to spend $8k on PPF. I do appreciate things seem to be moving very quickly so far.

Car is going to be beautiful enough to deal with the hassle. If you're super worried about it, lease the car.

individual paint locks the car at 112, no further modifications and no changing colors
