Spoke to BMW genius live chat again, still stating "confirmed for production week 37 (09/13)" - hoping to flip to 150 early next week

Anyone else went into 150 yet?

Order received 7/20 was build week 35 - then to 36, 37 as of yesterday and now as of today moved to 38 . Just insane and so painful. I’ve been at scheduled for production for about 5-6 weeks now .

That sucks... I just checked again with Genius after reading your post and they re-iterated "vehicle production is confirmed for week 37 (w/c 09/13)" so at this point I don't even know what to believe any more.. I am going to take a break from checking every day it's not doing my mental health any good - I will check again on Friday and then wait until next week and see if there's any movement

My order was placed 06/19 and was status 111 then, it went into status 112 on 08/06

I’m in the same boat mental health wise - down to the “genius reiterated its still week 36” and all lol. The only thing giving me some solace is that there’s other people in Week 36 in a similar boat.

I don't know what the story actually is.
The tracking website went backwards today from 'Scheduled for production' to 'Order received'.

So I called the Genius hotline and they are adamant that it will finish production in week 37 (mid-September). They are highly confident this will hold because it's so close.

They even looked at the history of the production number and said that this was originally a week 31 slot (early August). This was never disclosed to me before so I'm not mad about that.

I went backwards as well; it's now scheduled for completion during week 40. My original week was 36, then 37 and now this - really bummed out now.

Why is this happening to some guys and not the others? Do you have a special paint? A weird color interior? Anything different about your build from anyone else? Lastly is there a chance your dealer screwed around with you and lied from the beginning what production week you were in? I ask all these questions because it doesn’t make sense that some guys gets bumped and the rest don’t.

You guys going backwards, can you list your options so we can see if there is any correlation to a specific set of options?

G82 Xdrive BSM, black wheels, red calipers, black extended Marino seats, ventilated seats, exec, drivers assistance pro and parking assistance. Nothing unusual at all. As for dealer screwing with me, nope I went to order received the same day I got allocation and genius said the next day build week 35 . Got moved back 3 times now to week 38. Scheduled for production for about 5-6 weeks now. Don’t understand why and it’s depressing to continually go backwards week after week.

I was able to take an allocation, not sure why it was available, but hey I took it. The build sheet says week 37. The salesperson on the other hand said that production starts at the beginning of Oct. and I should expect the car in Dec. Something seems off. Do cars get completed and shipped that quickly?

danf72, Allocation in July. The production for my M4 Comp started on 8/3. Build was completed on the 8/27. Vehicle left the factory today 8/31. Not sure where it is... Calling the dealership tomorrow to get a better up date.

It’s posts like this that don’t make any sense. I realize you’re just relaying what your sales person told you but you or him or both of you are not understanding the process correctly. Build week 37 is between September 13 and September 19. That’s supposed to be the week your car is finished. That’s what week 37 means on your build sheet anyway. So either you guys are reading that wrong or he just doesn’t know what he’s talking about. The only other option would be that none of us know what we talking about and there is no methodology to this. However that can’t be true because there’s hundreds of pages of previous threads that tracked many builds of many models pretty accurately. So I’m going back to what has always been known and that is when you are given a build week that’s the week it’s supposed to be finished.

It's particularly confusing because there are a number of BMW systems, for example the dealership ordering system, the system Genius uses to query orders (sometimes they use the mainframe BMW system, not the same as the dealership), different systems between regions (US vs Europe) etc

Each one of these systems have a bunch of dates labelled using different headings, for example here's a screenshot from my UK dealer back when I placed the order in mid June:

If you look at the circled labels, we have:

Req. Prod Week: Week 37 Month 09 Year 2021
Sub. Prod Week: Week 37 Month 09 Year 2021
Conf. Prod Week: Week 36 Month 09 Year 2021

My understanding is they map to:

Requested Production Week (as requested by the dealership)
Submitted Production Week (???)
Confirmed Production Week (as accepted per the factory - this should be the true production week used for tracking the order)

I have seen other screenshots where some of these dates are described using different labels (eg PW or Planned Week)

So could it be that the week 37 on his build sheet refers to the "requested production week", but the "confirmed production week" isn't until say week 40 (beginning of Oct)

Maybe someone in the know can shed more light on this - calbears perhaps?

I appreciate you posting this. It just adds a lot more to the confusion. Of course it probably is different in the UK than the US. However I guarantee somebody here knows the exact 100% truth on all of this. I am still pretty confident that the week number in the US is the week it’s supposed to be finished. That doesn’t mean it will be finished it just means it’s supposed to be. I’m ready to be corrected though. My wife does it all the time so I’m used to it.

This was directly from the genius line, so no dealer lying.

Order placed on 8/16 and the VIR printout they gave me has a status of 112.
Called on 8/17 and told week 36; My Garage listed as Scheduled for production
Late last week My Garage shows as Order received; I call Genius and they say scheduled for Week 37. That night it goes back to Scheduled for production
Yesterday I see it's back to Order received and as mentioned it's now week 40.

Specs are:
M4 Convertible
Skyscraper Grey
Kyalami Orange Full Leather
Driver Assistance Package
Parking Assistance Package
Executive Package
M Drive Professional
Red Calipers
Shadowline Lights
Front Ventilated Seats
Carbon Fiber Trim
Neck Warmer
M Carbon Exterior Package
826M Black wheels.

If I had to guess, it's the exterior carbon that's pushing it out.

I'm a G83, week 36, no carbon exterior package. My estimated completion is Sept 7, which hasn't changed. It's still at production begins, 150

Ugh I have the carbon exterior package.. fingers crossed they get more parts in soon

Also I just spoke to Genius again (can't help it!) and I am starting to think I am not week 37 but 38.. this is what I keep getting told:

Quote:
Your fantastic BMW M3 is currently scheduled for production. The production is expected to start on week 37 - 13th September 2021. The estimated delivery to your BMW Centre is week 40 - 4th October 2021. Would you like help with anything else?
"production is expected to start on week 37"

I was Week 36 stuck in “Scheduled for Production” up through yesterday. Online tracker finally updated except it went back to “Order Received”. Called Genius and they said I’m still scheduled production with “an estimated start of production on Week 37 which is next week”. So I guess I’m here now
