Carbon vs no carbon. RWD vs AWD. Ugh. Choices so hard.

Welcome! I have had lot of white cars (well trucks) recently also. My 2015 M4 is in Silverstone and I love it, but still a lighter color. That made me decide to try something new and different: Frozen Dark Grey.

I love IOMG and it probably would have been my choice had I not opted for the grey. It looks great with the SS and Kyalami. I also love Tartufo on IOMG.

The roof is already carbon, so I opted to go full carbon including some performance parts.

AWD was also a no-brainer for me. Pittsburgh gets lots of rain and snow, and I'd like to be able to drive it year-round. My M4 in RWD was surprisingly good with winter tires, but the AWD will be even better.

I'm going to check tomorrow. I was planning to anyway, since the next month production plan is set at the start of the previous month.

I'm really hoping we got bumped up a bit. I thought it usually goes into 112 status about 3-4 weeks ahead of going into 150 status. If that were true it seems like we would have been bumped up a couple of weeks.

I am in scheduled for production as well. Scared me a little bit that it updated so fast. I still need some more time to make my final build decisions lol.

Just confirmed with Genius - still week 39 despite the change in status.

This is my first custom-order, so no idea what to expect here. I have seen some people on here where 112->150 is a few days, and others where it's 5+ weeks.

May be not relevant but my g/f ordered X5 x45e just recently and went into scheduled for production in a couple days and then right into production shortly thereafter. She wasn't expecting that to happen for a few weeks. She was actually just about to make a small change to her build.

I call the Genius line this afternoon and they confirmed that I'm still scheduled for week 39 despite the change to a status of Scheduled for Production. Was a little bummed to hear but still holding out a little hope that we get bumped up a couple of weeks.

Quick question for you. Now you're 150, do you know if your build week has been updated if you call genius?

I called BMW Customer Service (Canada), and they can tell me less than the dealership. The dealership confirmed that it is in production start (which means my options are locked in and I can't make changes) and gave me my VIN.

If the car was supposed to be a Build Week 39 (meaning finished ~end of September), that means this is an early start based on this guide:

Stopped by my dealership today while out buying a helmet for HPDE days. My car is expected to be completed for the start of September, they tell me (optimistically?) delivery end of September. I'm not sure if the status codes map well to the pinned thread any more, but my car is in 150 with text status stating it is at the bodyshop stage.

This seems like I need to punt myself from my own thread, since delivery may be week 39
