After 23 days at bremerhaven finally on a ship! Victoria highway stated to arrive july 31st. Genius said it does still have the stop order and will be fixed according at the VPC… its in

I wonder who the supplier is? Ford had the same issue with almost their entire lineup with it's reverse camera. My 2020 Mustang GT and my wife's 2020 Escape both had recalls in addition to othe makes.

Bmw has recalls on the reverse cameras for many 2020-2021 vehicles. I just dont understand why they keep manufacturing new ones with the problem.

I guess if they were to halt/interrupt the production line it would cause disruption and severely impact/backlog their order schedules

Their logistics engineers have probably determined that it is actually more efficient to produce the cars (albeit partially) and then retrofit the camera part when the part becomes available closer to the destination

I heard from my salesperson yesterday and my 22 AWD is at the port in Germany now for 1 week with the stop sale due to the cameras. No timeline yet, not sure if it will ship and then get completed at the VPC in California. I'd guess this may add a month to the delivery. My friend just went through a similar campaign on an M550 and it delayed his delivery by about 6 weeks. I'm fine, as long as they install the cameras the same as the factory snd it arrives in the same condition to me.

I just spoke to BMW genius and they said my car is supposed to be at the dealer on 22 July. They said the parts for the camera retrofit are at the vpc and a work order was opened to complete job. We'll see if this is true.

I spoke to genius also and they said a work order was placed on the 15th but no parts have arrived. How long have you been at the VPC? And did you have a previous delivery date before the one they gave you just now?

I just tried Genius again, this time they said that my M3C has been under work-order since the 9th (first time I've heard that), but aligns with the day my ship got to NJ/NY port. He then said they are still waiting on the parts and when I asked when I should call again, he said Thursday...again, first time I heard that.

This is beyond frustrating.

It's even more frustrating cause 2022 models are starting to come In and I shoulda had my car a week ago. I call everyday hoping to hear some good news I suggest you do the same you never know when the status can change.

I was on the Niagara highway, got into Baltimore last Thursday. Today was the first time they told me a delivery date. My dealer is in Alexandria, VA.

When I arrived to the NJ port they told me my delivery date was the 16th of July. They said the computer generates a delivery date regardless of stop sale so I wouldn't get your hopes up. Hopefully I'm wrong and you get your car but I been at the port since the 9th waiting for this to be resolved.

That's exactly what I was told. Same situation; delivery date was supposed to be last Thursday the 15th, and I've been at the NJ port since the 9th. I'd love to know just how many M3's are sitting there right now waiting for this camera fix.

On that note, does anyone know what is actually wrong? Is there no backup camera? Is it another camera? All I know is it is camera related. Not that it matters, just curious, as it's certainly camera related and not software, as Genius keeps telling me they "are waiting on parts."

My sales guy and a few other friends that work at bmw said it's Microchip related but they could be wrong
