I wouldn't trust that. I'm still at the port in Germany and I have the camera issue (audio module as well).

I've come to not trust anything beyond the facts that the genius can see in the system (e.g. where your car is, what sort of stop sell flags it has, the name of the vessel, when it should reach the destination port).

Mine had the camera stop sell flag and it boarded the ship. They said it would have not boarded the ship if it wasn't fixed. Mine sat at the port for 8 days.

You guys are lucky, at least you can order it.
Parking Assitant Plus (surround camera) wont be available to order at least until 2022 in Spain.
Dealer told me probably until march 2022.

Agreed.
My car left the German port on 6/18, arrived in Baltimore 7/4 and is now stuck at VPC with the camera issue.

I arrived with that same boat, what makes you say we have a camera issue instead of the normal VPC 5 day turnover time?

Based on speaking with Genius a few days after the ship left Germany and again earlier today. The first time they said it probably won't delay the VPC stage but today they couldn't give a time estimate.
I have no idea if this applies to your car though.

Hard to believe that 2021s are still at port and 2022s have started arriving. BMW dealers may deliver some 2022s, depending on final location and deal, before 2021s which is crazy.

Yeah and it sucks that dealers probably still wont discount it even though if i waited 1 more week to order it would of been a 2022…

Hopefully true. Mine arrived at the port in Baltimore on the 6th. Supposed be loaded on a truck tomorrow to the dealer. Also in baltimore. When I run my vin through one of the sites to check for recalls it does not show any open recalls.

Stop sale isnt a recall thats why.

Stop sale is something that is virtually assured to come back to the dealer for repair but it isnt a safety issue that will kill you.

I work for a different manufacture. A stop sale is issued because the fix is either not available yet they're still working on it or they dont have parts available yet. So the cars are grounded til the parts are available. But its released as a recall.

Just spoke to my dealer. He said he had a M3 with the same issue and it arrived within a week but it depends on how long it takes for bmw to get the microchips.

According to my sales guy and my friend that spoke to some of his friends that work at bmw yes. BMW genius told me to call back later today and they'll have some more info for me

Same thing they told me. If you made it to the ship recently it was fixed at the port.

All new cars sold in the US are required by law to have a backup camera.
