M4 competition vs Mustang GT 10 speed

Found this video online because i been on a G8x video binge lately and came across this.

Stock M4 comp vs '20 GT 10 speed auto with intake, no cats, and a tune.

The M4 actually started to pull from 135 or so but basically about even the entire race, maybe the mustang got the M4 by half a car but the aerodynamics of the M4 might have caused it to pull at 135?




Would anyone agree the M4 is stock or perhaps a tune?

I will be honest, this video does not make sense to me…Either that mustang has many more mods or the M4 was in Comfort mode and his passenger weighed 350lbs…

The guy who posted the video said in the comments the M4 has a JB4 but in the video it said the M4 was stock.

There is no way a mustang with just an intake and a tune will run even with a JB4 M3/M4.

So it's safe to say the M4 was stock?

Let me guess, somewhere in the comments there is somebody who has said “the mustang is actually the winner here as it’s only 30k and the m4 is easily double that!!”

My manual GT felt just as fast, and much moreso below about 3k rpm than my stock M3 and it just had headers and a tune. It was maybe sliiiiiiightly less powerful at the very top end, but it’s close feeing. The A10 is a great transmission and with a tune the 18+ GT’s can make great power.

I didn't read every single comment but the comment that struck me the most was that the video poster said the car had a JB4, that's why it hung with the modified GT. And that a stock M4 wouldn't be able to do that.

I know BMW underrates their M cars, or maybe all cars so i'm guessing the M3/M4's are a lot faster than people think.

I thought that race was about right. Stock M4C vs slightly modified GT.

But now they wanna change their tune so to speak and say the M4 had a JB4. There's another video of another M4, with a JB4 and it hung with a hellcat redeye.

I know, my friend has an 18 GT with the 10 speed. It's incredible.

But i'm just trying to find out if people think the M4 in the video was actually stock or it had a JB4, given what they saw from the video.

When the M4C got the JB4, as shown in a later video, it was racing a hellcat redeye and was pretty much neck and neck. That's hugely impressive for just a tune.

So i can't see how people think the M4C has a JB4 in the video in the original post. I think if the M4C did have a JB4, it would have walked that mustang.

With just headers and a tune, my manual GT felt just as quick as my stock M3 below 3k rpm. It was possibly slightly less powerful at the very top end, but it was close. The A10 is a fantastic transmission, and with a little tweaking, the 18+GTs can make some serious power.

Oh, nice. Way to drag an old thread out of the cemetery.

I actually had a run in with one of these that had paper plates on it, but it clearly had at least an exhaust, as it had that god awful Mustang rattle.

I am the absolute biggest hater of Mustangs, but I ran into one, in Mexico, about a month ago, and there was a few back and forth in the lanes for me to get a clear shot, and I was about 5-6 cars back, and I was surprised that I didn't start catching it, until about 125. After that, though, I was hard charging on it.

I scratched my head the rest of the way home, trying to figure out how that car could have even come close to hanging with a car that almost runs 10s. Well, I went home to check it out, and apparently, 60-130 I was seeing 9.9 with an exhaust and an air filter. My car runs a 60-130 in 9.8. Makes more sense, now.
