From what I understand on their instagram post is that this is only the slip-on and not the full catback.

Correct slip on, so opf and cats are still in place

Which means there is a whole lot of tone missing from this exhaust. I honestly cannot wait to receive mine.

I cannot wait as well. I think it'll sound perfect with the full system + 200 cell cat

It does not sound like a $10k exhaust to me. I'm sure the quality is great but the price is crazy and I don't think it sounds particularly special at all.

Mid pipe seems to be the best bang for buck by a long shot

Sorry but for that price I better be blown away.

It needs to sound like 2,000 angels singing in unison while an F-14 flies overhead.

Isn't it funny how Akrapovic exhaust price talk is always inflated? This slip on is featured online for $7538 (US). Even adding the Link Pipe it's $9511. So, as usual Akrapovic exhaust is roughly 10% the price of the car it's designed for. Not crazy for the best IMO.

Sounds the bomb and definitely looks better than the BMW performance option.
Well done 👍

Maybe I’m just too poor, but saying ten thousand dollars isn’t crazy for a muffler and exhaust pipes is insane to me.

A lot of people would say the same about buying a $90k car.

I think the 7-10% of the vehicle price is about where Akrapovic exhaust has been for years and years. This relative price even seems in sync with other top-of-the-line parts for the same vehicles. Just look at what BMW charges for M Performance upgrades; or what HRE charges for their wheels for good benchmark examples.

You do understand we're talking about a titanium exhaust system, right?

Serious? Akrapovic has gone complacent. I can't believe they approved this product. I expect a lot of customer dissatisfaction posts. Time will tell.

From an installer perspective - we've been installing Akrapovic systems for going on 12 years, back when Akrapovic had a US facility.

It's good we have multiple options. Most systems always require some sort of tweaking around on the hangers or slip-fits to get just right, never the case for Akrapovic. For those that have owned Akrapovic before, you'll know firsthand they are the benchmark for exhaust systems out there - nothing comes close. We've installed numerous Akrapovic systems, had Akrapovic systems on our E92 & F82 and would do it all over again on this platform.

Whether its worth it or not, a Rolex and a G Shock both tell the same time - and last I heard, Rolex is still selling watches. We all work hard for our money, it's up to the buyer to enjoy how they spend it. Akrapovic seems to have a have a target market they're aiming for, and doing it successfully.

An Evolution setup for the E9x was roughly 7k and arguably more expensive relative to that car and it's price at the time.
