If its a lease, use swapalease.com

It will go super fast and you can specify up front cash to recoup your upfronts.

Shhh. He has connections.

In fact they are holding a custom ordered car just for him, in case he decides he's ready.
I didn't say that. You need below MSRP you might need that.

As I said I was trying to help some folks here, just to come and say you can still get at MSRP. But it looks like the crowd here is unfriendly… well I'm off now.

Don't worry. All these posters are grateful to pay over MSRP for a mass produced M3. All the cool kids are doing it now.

Just a clarification. I have paid less than MSRP for all vehicles in the past and have no plans paying over MSRP even in the future.

OP has listed his vehicle for sale and everyone is aware of the current market scenario especially in CA. Comments like "why would i this buy over MSRP when i zeroed in a deal less than MSRP" adds no value to the thread. People are aware that one can find MSRP or below MSRP deals with patience.

buckybadger, Im with you... I have no problem waiting. (Car was purchased at MSRP at BMW SD) This is my first BMW M4 and wasn't in a hurry... I've had the car for 2 weeks. Its been parked in the garage, waiting on PPF/Ceramic appointment in November. M4 Comp/Brooklyn Grey will never see rain.

These comments are funny. GLWS

I hope you get that you want. SoCal inventory is nuts. Msrp and wait 6 months. Rather pay above and get that I want rather than wait. Money comes and goes. Enjoy it.

Yes, you can get MSRP on an allocation and be lucky to get a car in 6 months. Have you tried to buy an M3/M4 that was on the floor of a dealership recently? I have and I could have spent hours/days negotiating on one of the four cars that was in stock within 300 miles of San Diego. I called on everything that showed and most were already sold. Those that weren't they were starting at $10K over and some $15K. Then spent 4 hours driving back and forth to the dealer to pick it up. Overall let's say I spend 10 hours doing all of this garbage. In that same 10 hours I could have spent time working or with my family. On an hourly rate that is a losing proposition vs paying $2K in markup locally. If $2K means that much to you buying an $85K BMW is probably not a great financial decision. I am not into wasting money, but the market is what it is right now.
Agreed with the above statements. I have seen several M4 Competitions Xdrive at dealerships and they magically have changed the msrp to $122k when my car, comparably equipped was $89k. Its easy for any dealership to inflate the so called msrp and currently with the market as it is you won't find desirable cars at msrp.

I can confirm Penske dealerships (at least on the East Coast) are not allowed to charge over MSRP for any new cars. We've sold a ton and not 1 over sticker

It sounds like there are two different discussions going on here. One is for cars that are in stock and ready to buy. These are going over sticker 100%.

Ordering cars is a completely different discussion and sticker or below is absolutely reasonable and achievable. It becomes a question of locating an actual allocation vs just a waitlist and then the possible 6 month+ wait with lots of uncertainty.

These are very important distinctions to make when discussing availability, price, etc

Boy this thread went off the deep, unsubstantiated, end.

Find me a car on the ground first and show me a PO for msrp without some sort of addendum in CA and make sure its Oct of 2021

There is a reason why every single car at Manheim is running over MSRP right now, even the ugly colors hahahaha. MMR is running around 94k with average msrps at 84k on 2021 non X drive Comps/

Anyone can order their car at MSRP but good luck getting an allocation right now. Even smaller dealers are backed up 6 deep
