Sto N Sho anyone?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I only need a front plate when I park in the 5 boroughs of NYC once a month maybe. Not while driving around. They never bother me where I am. I looked at the Carnbonio mount but that's not really quick on and off. I called Sto N Sho but they haven't been able to fabricate one for the new M3s yet but I am figuring I could make one on their mounts work. Anyone tried that? Or anything else that I can pop on and off in seconds?

Thanks

hmmm... my last 4 cars had no front plate and I frequented NYC include Queens and Brooklyn - 2-3 times per week and did park on the street most times, never had an issue with no front plate. Maybe because of the NJ license?

Could be. Every single time I parked at meter I came back to a ticket. That got old fast

I feel like drilling the g8x is less obnoxious than previous M cars because it looks to be into black plastic on the bumper/grill? Don't notice the holes that much when plate is off.

More on topic Sto N Sho is great on the cars I've had it on.

Put one in your window when you get out of the car, that works for most.

I generally don't park on the street because my office in Brooklyn has a parking lot but whenever I do street parking I put my "spare license plate" in the window by the passenger side.

The Carbonio mount for the G80 is quicker on/off than the one I had on my M2C.

Really...once you have it set up the first time, it's about 3 seconds on or off.

Thanks. I didn't know it was that quick but if it is that works for me.

A NYC friend has a setup on his P-car that is clever. Each time he parks he places a strong rare earth magnet on the inside of the grill which he then secures to a magnet that is glued to the rear of the plate. You wouldn't want to drive with this setup but it's quick and clean. I imagine that this setup is possible with the Gx grills. be careful not to scratch the paint.

Note, I did have to take off the connector thingys and turn them around to get the Carbonio to work right. Once that was done, accessing the spring clips is REALLY easy and quick.
