Did you so PPF also? Happy with install quality (edges etc)?

No I just did ceramic on the paint and PPF on the headlights after an early rock chip.

I am doing PPF with Von Wraps and Design, he should be close to you in the Boca Area. I spoke to him about PPF for my car and it was a fair price for the job. He has great reviews and sounded legit. I will let you know my experience once I pick up my car and get it done with him, but that's the only place I know of thus far around here.

For Stealth PPF (since I am frozen and it'll match) it was $1990 for full front clip. Bumper, hood, fenders, and mirror caps. I am sure if it was regular XPEL it would be a bit cheaper or at least same price.

That's a good price for PPF, I just want to do ceramic though.

oh, I am not sure if they do ceramic though. This is their site:

https://vonwrapsanddesign.com/ceramic-coating/

Seems they do ceramic coats as well.

Prices between quality shops all seem really close. Not surprising there.

I've heard enough good things about Ecophant that I am going to use them. Planning on front PPF plus roof, tint, and full ceramic.

Never bothered with PPF or "real" ceramic on prior cars, but this one is a large investment for me and i chose San Marino which is notoriously soft.

Because I have to park outside under palm trees (darn condo lot) i am doing ceramic pro gold package. May as well since it's only a few hundred more.

I am a bit concerned about what film would fit best on a Frozen brilliant white, given its a metallic frozen color. I am not sure the XPEL stealth, which adds a matte look to regular paints, would be the best fit for match. Would a clear option fit better or add gloss? I want something that will protect against the dreaded highway debris, rocks, etc which can chip the paint. Not sure if ceramic does the trick, which I doubt.

I really don't want to PPF the whole car in a clear XPEL which would make it gloss, or wrap it with XPEL stealth which would hide the FBW's real metallic look... Why did I spend 3600 on FBW to PPF it?

Not sure about which film is best. I'd look/post in the cosmetic modification section.

What I will say, is everything I've heard is that doing full PPF on matte paints is almost compulsory because of the difficulty of maintenance and the even higher level of difficulty of repairing small imperfections.

Ceramic will not protect against chips swirls or other damages. But it will protect the finish against things like bird poop or other contaminants ruining the matte finish. I do know there are ceramics specifically designed for matte paints, just like the PPF designed for it.

I was impressed with Ecophant, and recommend you also speak with Mauricio there about what he recommends.

I'm in same dilemna with CS, dont want to do entire car. But i also dont want the gloss level to be different on the car from what is wrapped vs what isn't.

One thing i can comment is, if you do stealth you dont have to worry it will not hide your color. It will show the flakes the same.

Oh that's good then as long as doesn't impact the look.

Finally made it up to Always Sunny Detailing in Ft Lauderdale. Connor is a very nice guy. Shop was impressive. They do PPF for Lamborghini of Broward. Saw three cars they had just finished in the shop (a Lambo, an f8 tributo, and a Cayenne GTS.) PPF install was faultless.

Got a quote for the same work as Mauricio at Ecophant...much cheaper. Can actually get full PPF for cost of front + roof + full ceramic.

Since I had already decided to spend the money, i think it makes sense to get full PPF since it is the same price anyway.

Since you just want Ceramic, I'd stick with Ecophant as they use ceramic pro. Always Sunny uses gl quartz (?).

I'd recommend speaking with Always Sunny Detailing as well. Prices are significantly better than what Ecophant quoted, and they get all the work from Lambo of Broward.

I'll give them a call tomorrow. If it's only a couple hundred off, I'd rather go with the overall better shop.

The price difference was significant. I am getting full car PPF for the equivalent price as getting front + roof + full ceramic.

Both shops and staff seemed very comparable.

Pretty solid work.

Another shop nobody has talked about is advanced detailing. One man show in pompano. Very good work as well. Slightly more expensive.
