The guys at IND have a post on the front page laying out all the different grill options. Pretty good explanations on why you would go each route. Exhausts are much more complex, but I think the community would get a lot of use of knowing all the options and having them explained all in a single post

Just placed an order for mine at X-PH! Excited to try it out!

I was originally contemplating getting a MAD or AA axleback as well, but figured I would just try the midpipe by itself first.

Anyone have a AA EL setup (full catback pref) with a catless downpipe? Interested to see what that sounds like.

Aggressive and raspy due to the catless, if you are looking for a LOUD exhaust, this setup is excellent. I prefer the deeper and more refind sound when paired with high-flow catted downpipes instead.

I have the EL with the AA back box. Best sounding G80 for sure

No rattle and it’s super exotic and no rasp whatsoever.

How’s the tone and volume on the cold start?

No rattle, however it’s quite medium to high pitched, but smooth. Once it warms up it has more of a rumble but on the throttle it’s very exotic and smooth. You don’t get the feeling that the exhaust is “screaming” or “shouting” like the stock variation of BMW’s.

Overall a very noisy refined sound

Just got my midpipe installed and I can confirm that it does rattle with the stock axle back on cold start. It doesn’t bother me right now but if it starts too, I’ll get an aftermarket axle back. Nevertheless, the sound this exhaust makes at higher rpms is glorious and I’m glad I went with it.

Since I drive a 6MT, I mainly drive around in efficient due to the more precise throttle so I definitely need a valve controller for Christmas

So I think I’ve finally settled on AA EL midpipe. My only concern is the rattling on cold start but that’s only transient and I think I can live with it. . However do you think the rattling would be more pronounced with the CSL’s titanium muffler which may change my decision then. Anyone with AA EL midpipe and have BMW MPE which is titanium as well? Thanks in advance

Has anyone figured out how to get rid of the cold start rattle on the EL? I’m ready to pull the trigger on a AA midpipe. I’ve spent a lot of time reading and watching videos. I was set to order the AA EL until I read about all the issues with rattle. Now I’m back to the drawing board looking at the EL and the AA non-res single.

I only want to do a midpipe on my G80. I don’t want to do downpipes or a axel back on this car. I also don’t want to do a valve controller until I can find a plug and play option using the existing buttons. I’m torn between the EL and single. I don’t want to be obnoxious with this car but I definitely need more sound. I had an AWE setup on my F82 that I loved but it was a block rocker.

if you are not sure, just get the single. its the safer option and everyone like it
