Lads, both of our collective car groups will be obsolete by the time H8X rolls around with its 2400hp, 5WD, and Land Yacht proportions while running the 'ring in 2:36.8. Lets all chill and wait in suspense for the final missing G8X 'ring number to be released

If it's really sub 7:30 then wow, that is such an incredible achievement
That is 991.1 GT3 time, 7 years later and at just over half the cost. It has no business being that fast. That's what i expected out of the CS, not the run of the mill version. the 991.1 GT3 is a much more focused track car from the factory. The G8X has 30hp more, weighs 600lb more, has no real aero Also looking forward to the 6MT time.

All Sport Auto NS tests attached below:
To be precise, by the way, those are Sport Auto laps which are different to industry laps that begin and end at the start of T13. Sport Auto layout starts at the end of T13 and ends at the start of the T13 straight, making it 232 metres shorter. There also have been significant changes race track itself over the past years. E92 SA lap by Horst von Saurma (replaced by Christian Gebhardt in 2013):

As a an example, the most recent 992 GT3 lap was timed for both the AM&S/SA lap and full lap. And it is also true that the track was altered over time making it quicker by removing some treacherous bumps.

https://www.mercedes-amg.com/en/worl...ecord-lap.html Btw, one of the best press releases by a manufacturer in a long time! «Why there are two differently timed laps on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife The Nürburgring-Nordschleife is regarded as the most difficult racetrack in the world and is included in every new development by Mercedes-AMG. A record lap is therefore the most demanding test of the qualities of a sports car. The times are determined for two track alternatives – 20.6 and 20.832 kilometres long. Since 1997, the 20.6-kilometre circuit has been the measure of all things. The specialist magazine sport auto from the Motor Presse Stuttgart publishing house drives this circuit as part of their so-called "Supertest". For historical reasons, the short straight at the T13 grandstand – from the turnoff from the Nordschleife to the Grand Prix circuit to the exit of the Grand Prix circuit onto the Nordschleife – was not included in the timing. The starting line is therefore at the end of the T13 grandstand in a northerly direction and the finish line is at the beginning of the T13 grandstand in a southerly direction. Therefore, no complete lap is measured after the flying start. The total length of the course is exactly 20.6 kilometres. In 2019 the official Nürburgring lap was added. It was organised by the operating company "Nürburgring 1927 GmbH & Co. KG" and is 232 metres longer, because the start and finish line are identical here, also on the T13 section, so a full Nordschleife lap of 20.832 kilometres is driven and measured with a flying start. Numerous conditions must be met for both record times to be recognised: In addition to timekeeping with calibrated photoelectric sensor technology, official record attempts and attempts to achieve a lap time are always accompanied by a notary. In addition to monitoring the timekeeping, the vehicles and the tires are also inspected and approved by the notary. The classification of the vehicle classes is based on the official categories of the German Federal Motor Transport Authority ("Kraftfahrtbundesamt" KBA).» |

Original Nordschleife guesstimate thread for reference now when the supertest result is in. We stopped guessing in this one when we got the factory driver time. Turns out the supertest and factory times are near identical.
